Spike 2011 VGA Darksiders 2 Teaser

When they said teaser, they definitely meant teaser. Tonight’s Darksiders 2 teaser was short but oh so very sweet. With very few words spoken, the message definitely hit home to those anxiously awaiting the arrival of Death.

The tagline, “What starts with War. Ends with Death,” is perfect for those who have been following the Darksiders franchise since the beginning. In reference to the past, this tagline is a choice pick for Darksiders 2. It’s been awhile since the previous trailer and screenshots were released and this teaser should get the taste back in fans’ mouths.

Check out the teaser below and see if your wait for a sequel to Darksiders has been justified:

About Darksiders 2:

Awakened by the End of Days, Death, the most feared of the legendary Four Horsemen, embarks upon a quest to restore mankind, and redeem his brother’s name. Along the way, the Horseman discovers that there are far worse things than an earthly Apocalypse, and that an ancient grudge may threaten all of Creation… Can DEATH really become mankind’s savior? Darksiders II follows the exploits of DEATH, one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, in a weaving tale that runs parallel to the events in the original Darksiders game. This epic journey propels DEATH through various light and dark realms as he tries to redeem his brother WAR, the horseman who was blamed for prematurely starting the Apocalypse in Darksiders.

What do you think, did the teaser excite your thumbs in anticipation for the release?

Darksiders 2 will release in the Summer of 2012 for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. It is also rumored to be a launch game for the Wii U.

  1. despite the CG effects being pretty sick, this is hardly anything to get excited about, didnt tell us anything besides the main plot, which most of us fans already know by now. i would have loved to see some new gameplay footage showcasing the RPG elements they’ve said the game will have.

considering that the games coming out around march-april i would have assumed the would start the barrage of ads for the game to hype it up before the big titles squash it in their over the top trailers and promos.

    • Its a teaser for a reason. Look at the new Rainbow 6 trailer its like 5 seconds long….

      • yeah but they gave us a demo and the games not coming out until 2013. it would have been alot better if we at l;east saw some of the npc’s :(

      • It’s actually just a little odd… They came out with THIS teaser before the trailer that came out months ago…

It’s usually in the reverse order.

I’m not sure that I’m comfortable with their marketing strategy here. LOL!

But I’m inclined to agree here… This just isn’t exciting at all. Not even for a Darksiders fan such as myself. It’s just not… titillating. (LOL!)

But I am not expecting much from this game. All I ask at this point is that it DOESN’T suck, that we get to play with at least ONE sword (not a scythe fan…) and that we get PROPER CONTROLS AND OPTIONS FOR THE PC DVD VERSION.

The last of which being the most important… Because I no longer touch my consoles these days since building my gaming rig. (Why would I?)

But I remember buying the PC version of Darksiders thinking I’d have a go at it and that it’d be even more awesome than the Xbox version…and found out that it was a travesty when I couldn’t control War. I had to buy an Xbox controller wireless receiver before I could play it.

How ridiculous… So I hope they avoid that scenario this time around. None of this porting from console to PC crap. (Which is HIGHLY inappropriate with ANY game.)

I have my doubts here, though… I hope I’m wrong.

  2. I couldn’t get through the first “Darksiders” cuz I got bored with it.
