‘Dance Central’ Track List Revealed, Features Multiple Lady Gaga Songs

Oct 13, 2010 by

Dance Central Track ListOne thing that can make or break a music game is its soundtrack. Having previously worked on Guitar Hero and Rock Band, Harmonix seems to understand what tracks are appropriate and fun to play in their games. Dance Central, announced at Microsoft’s E3 Press Conference this year, appears set to extend Harmonix’s record of decent track selection. Today Harmonix and MTV Games revealed the complete on-disc track list for Dance Central, and it appears to be what people would expect from a dance game.

While the track list is certainly not what you would expect a hardcore Halo: Reach player to be using as a custom soundtrack, it does look like a selection that fits with the casual audience Microsoft is targeting with Kinect. Regardless of your musical preferences, and ability to tolerate multiple Lady Gaga songs, the track list seems fun and entertaining for the type of game Dance Central is. Do not worry if nothing on this list catches your eye, as several DLC tracks will be available for purchase on the day the game releases. Have a look at the complete track list:

  • Audio Push – “Teach Me How To Jerk”
  • Basement Jaxx – “Rendez-vu”
  • Beastie Boys – “Body Movin’ (Fatboy Slim Remix)”
  • Beenie Man – “King Of The Dancehall”
  • Bell Biv DeVoe – “Poison”
  • Benny Benassi – “Satisfaction”
  • Cascada – “Evacuate the Dancefloor”
  • Christina Milian – “Dip It Low”
  • The Commodores – “Brick House”
  • Craig Mack –“Flava In Ya Ear (Remix)”
  • Dirty Vegas – “Days Go By”
  • Eric B. & Rakim – “Don’t Sweat the Technique”
  • Fannypack – “Hey Mami”
  • Jay Sean ft. Lil Wayne – “Down”
  • Kool & The Gang – “Jungle Boogie”
  • Kylie Minogue – “Can’t Get You Out of My Head”
  • Lady Gaga – “Just Dance”
  • Lady Gaga – “Poker Face”
  • Lipps Inc – “Funky Town”
  • M.I.A. – “Galang ‘05”
  • Nelly Furtado – “Maneater”
  • Nina Sky – “Move Ya Body”
  • No Doubt – “Hella Good”
  • Pitbull – “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)”
  • Quad City DJ’s – “C’mon N’ Ride It (The Train)”
  • Rihanna – “Pon de Replay”
  • Salt-N-Pepa – “Push It”
  • Snoop Dogg/Pharrell – “Drop It Like It’s Hot”
  • Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em – “Crank That (Soulja Boy)”
  • Technotronic – “Pump Up the Jam”
  • Wreckx-n-Effect – “Rump Shaker”
  • Young MC – “Bust A Move”

As someone who dances about as well as an infant who still hasn’t learned to walk, the idea that my embarrassing dance moves will be confined to the privacy of my own home is appealing. Although I am not sure about spending $150 on Kinect and another $50 just to play this game, it definitely has my interest. A few of our Game Rant writers got some hands-on time with the game last August and came away impressed. This could still be an impulse buy for me on release day.

So Ranters, what are your thoughts on this track list? Are these tracks enough, or were you expecting more? Also, am I the only one curious as to why Lady Gaga is the only artist with multiple tracks?

Dance Central will release November 4, 2010, for the Xbox 360. It will require Kinect.

  1. Is it just me, or is this list a lot shorter than it should be?

  2. @Jeff
It is waaaaaay shorter then it should be… They’ll chalk it up to price in choreagraphy but i’m sure anyone that can dance and just wanted some credit would have done it for free. I will say that out of the 32 songs i am anxious to dance to 23 of them.

    @Matt
Pure Popularity… Gaga is in Demand, people are going “Gaga” (oh yeah i did) for Gaga.

  3. Cool thing about comments being moderated now a days is that you can get a “moderation Preview” that way you can assure yourself that you made the comment and review it yourself if you said a boo boo.
