Cyberpunk 2077 fans waited five long years to see the game again, between its initial announcement trailer and the reveal trailer that was shown off at E3 2018. During that time, fans of the CD Projekt RED RPG have gotten very good at hoovering up tidbits of information about the game and speculating wildly about them. The latest community discussion shows that old habits, die hard.

The latest big topic in the Cyberpunk 2077 community stems from a curious reply from the game's official Twitter page. In November 2012, the Applause songstress and lead of A Star Is Born posted a nonsense, gibberish tweet full of random letters, numbers, and exclamation marks. For some (currently unknown) reason, the Cyberpunk 2077 account replied to the tweet in September 2018, simply saying "Of course! Of course we will!" along with an emoji face wearing a pair of sunglasses.

Cyberpunk 2077 fans remain convinced that the tweet is somehow connected to the content in the game. The most popular suggestion is that Lady Gaga will feature in the game in an acting capacity. Fresh off her star turn in A Star Is Born, Lady Gaga may well want to test her voice acting chops as well as her on-camera acting skills.

Some have also wondered whether Gaga's music will somehow feature in the game. The singer's discography does include dance-y hits such as Marry The Night and The Edge of Glory which would all go very well with driving or action sequences set in the Cyberpunk 2077 setting of Night City. Many of the star's looks, including the strange, angular and disco-ball-like costumes she sported at the beginning of her mainstream career, would fit in the game's world rather well, too.

Given how vague the tweet from the Cyberpunk 2077 account is, it's understandable that some will dismiss this as a bit of random social media promotion. However, many will point out that CD Projekt RED has used the game's Twitter account to publish vague teasers in the past. Fans will remember the way the studio reactivated the game's Twitter account, leading to (correct) speculation that a new trailer for the game was about to be revealed at E3.

Unfortunately, though, fans may have to wait a while to see the Lady Gaga / Cyberpunk 2077 collaboration for themselves (if it really is happening). CD Projekt RED has said that the game is still years away from release, so fans will just have to keep speculating in the meantime.

Cyberpunk 2077 is expected to release for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but the game has yet to receive an official release date.
