After a rumor just yesterday that the beloved indie Cuphead would be coming to PlayStation 4, it's suddenly available for purchase and play on Sony's console.

Cuphead charmingly combines exceptionally difficult run and gun gaming with 1930s rubber hose animation to create a sidescroller shoot 'em up that captivated players worldwide. It was noted for being challenging yet addictingly fun thanks to the unique vintage art style and entertaining combat. Originally, it was only released for PC and Xbox One is 2017 with a Switch version following in 2019, but sadly for Sony lovers, PS4 did not get a copy. That is, until only a few hours ago Cuphead became rumored to release for PS4.

As it turns out, the rumors were true. Cuphead was even given its very own launch trailer that also released alongside the game today, similar to the unique announcement trailer that was made for Cuphead's Switch release.

"Many of us on the team grew up exploring the worlds of classing PlayStation titles, from Resident Evil to Vandal Hearts," StudioMDHR's Co-Director Chad Moldenhauer says on the launch. "To all the impassioned PlayStation fans who've sent us messages over the years: we're so excited for you to get a chance to experience Cuphead firsthand."

StudioMDHR also announced a free update coming for the Xbox that will add a digital art gallery, behind-the-scenes commentary, and a playable soundtrack to the game. No release date was announced for the update, but considering that it's not massive in size, it hopefully won't be long before Xbox users can get their hands on it.

Cuphead is available now on Mac, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
