  1. That's great, like you, I really think that his voice connects you with the character…I've also read today that there well be adventures in the Mass Effect universe after ME3, so if they don't kill him off, he could possibly cameo in future games.

  2. Personally I couldn't stand his voice… He had less than a half dozen credits under his belt when he was signed for ME1, compared to Jennifer Hale (female Shepard) with over 120… He's very inexperienced, and it showed… His voice just felt flat and, well, felt like he was reading dialogue. Hale, however, really got into the character like the experienced actress she is.

In any case, a tiny correction: BioWare has said that Mass Effect 3 will conclude Commander Shepard's story arc…they said nothing about concluding the Mass Effect series. It could go on… The only thing we know for sure is that Commander Shepard will no longer be the main protagonist after ME3.

    • Hmmm. Joker as a main character for Mass Effect 3, andddd 4?

  3. Female Shepard voice was really forced… Didn't sound bad-a** and also questions what a woman is doing representing her planet as the best Military unit it has to offer…

Both voice actors could have been more “into it” in Mass Effect 1, with Mark Meer's voice in the lead in my opinion.

I've yet to play female Shepard in Mass Effect 2 but I can already say Mark Meer did an amazing job this time around.

I guess one of the things that motivates voice actors is the success of their previous work. They may have read the good reviews for Mass Effect 1 and thought they'd work hard to make Mass Effect 2 as good or even better.
