When Mass Effect 3 was pushed back from 2011 to 2012 it instantly jumped from most anticipated title of one year to the next. As such, gamers are forced to wait a little bit longer to get their hands on the game – as are we after the game’s stunning display at E3.
According to the game’s Director Casey Hudson gamers might actually be getting a chance to give Commander Shepard’s swan song a spin even before the finished game releases. In response to a tweet from a fan, Hudson dropped a brief tease that there might be more news about a Mass Effect 3 demo in the coming months.
Unfortunately, since Twitter keeps their responses to a 140-character maximum, Hudson’s carefully chosen words didn’t add any more information beyond a brief demo mention. But, if gamers are lucky, BioWare should be prepping more exciting news for the coming months.
Also there is still a question of where gamers might first be able to experience a demo if one were to be released. With recent news indicating Electronic Arts‘ Origin digital download service as the primary purveyor of the deluxe edition of Mass Effect 3 and ME3 becoming a multi-platform simultaneous release, a multi-platform demo release seems entirely possible.
Still, with the game’s release more than half a year away, and a ton of triple-A titles set to release before 2011 is up, it might be a bit early for talk of a Mass Effect demo.
What might be a better way to build anticipation for Mass Effect 3 (if there wasn’t enough of that already) is to release the three walkthroughs that E3 2011 attendees were treated to behind closed doors. It certainly helped BioShock: Infinite bring the experience of the event to gamers, so why shouldn’t Electronic Arts follow suit.
Either way, gamers could do with a little bit more information on the crew of the spaceship Normandy whether it’s from hands-on experience or not.
Would you be interested in checking out a demo for Mass Effect 3? When do you think would be the ideal time to release such a demo?
Mass Effect 3 releases March 6, 2012 on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Christmas. Can’t wait for this game. Getting it for both the xbox and ps3!
I say October would be a good release for it.
Not much coming out then, it’s close to the original release date, and Gives them enough time to change stuff if/when it’s not working.
