Call of Duty: Warzone fans have had no shortage of requests, ranging from weapon nerfs to a stronger anti-cheat system. However, another consistent Call Of Duty: Warzone demand has been for an FOV slider on consoles.

Call of Duty: Warzone’s FOV slider discussion largely focuses on the fact that console players are at a disadvantage. While it would still be frustrating if all players did not have an FOV slider, it would still be fair. Unfortunately, that is not the case, as those on PC have full access to one of these sliders. By raising their field-of-view, they can see more of the map, meaning that they can spot enemies that would normally be off-screen. As such, there has been no shortage of requests for a console-based slider.

While developer Raven Software teased console FOV slider plans earlier this year, it remains to be seen when the feature will be added. As players wait, there have been no shortage of posts pointing out just how beneficial the slider can be. One such post comes from Reddit user siggyxlegiit, but instead of using actual gameplay footage to prove their point, they showcase some real-life video of a train. Surprisingly, the meme attempt actually does a terrific job of showing just how much difference a larger field-of-view could make.

The video begins with a zoomed-out view of the moving train, with viewers getting a clear look at what the conductor would be seeing. However, the camera then zooms in, and Call of Duty: Warzone players should be able to notice that the train is moving much slower. Yet another zoom occurs, this time showing a close-up view of the train tracks ahead. Likely meant to resemble what console players are seeing, this final change makes the train look as if it is moving incredibly slow. It only feels that way, however, as the train is moving just as fast as it normally would.

The Redditor that posted the clip was quick to comment that console players must feel incredibly slow without a slider, and many commenters replied that this is indeed the case. While the lack of an FOV slider can be frustrating due to how much less the camera shows, it is also incredibly tough to get used to for those that have played with an FOV slider in the past. Currently, the only way to feel the speed boost and get a wider field-of-view on console is through Call of Duty: Warzone’s Dead Silence field upgrade.

Hopefully, Call of Duty: Warzone’s next-gen versions bring the long-requested FOV slider along with them. For now, though, it seems like Call of Duty: Warzone fans on console will need to miss out for a while longer.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
