[UPDATE: Watch the live Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer event above. The festivities kick off at 10:30 PST!]

Today, Activision and developer Infinity Ward will give fans their first look at Call of Duty: Ghosts' multiplayer in action. We've been hearing about this multiplayer reveal for about a month now, and tomorrow at 10:30am PST it's finally happening.

The event is slated to run for a full hour and will include live presentations and at least one trailer. Gamers that want to watch the multiplayer event should bookmark this post, as we will update it with the livestream when it goes live tomorrow morning. Spike TV will also air the event, if you want to catch it there.

While not much is known about the multiplayer in Call of Duty: Ghosts at this time, expectations are high that this particular iteration will evolve the series' trademark multiplayer. As Call of Duty takes its first steps into the next-gen, the hope is that the multiplayer will follow suit.

Multiplayer in Call of Duty has come a long way since the first Modern Warfare hit back in 2007. To further emphasize that point, Activision has released a new infographic that sums up a few of the franchise's biggest accomplishments. The infographic also provides a little bit of real world context for the multiplayer, to give gamers some perspective on just how big Call of Duty is.

In addition to a fully-fledged multiplayer reveal, there have been some rumors which suggest Infinity Ward is preparing a new cooperative mode for Call of Duty: Ghosts, one that may or may not be called 'Squads.' Our guess is that, given the amount of time Activision has booked for the event, that co-op might make an appearance as well.

So, while gamers prepare for the next iteration of Call of Duty's multiplayer, here's a chance to look back. Although many gamers malign the franchise for its lack of evolution from iteration to iteration, there's no denying that Call of Duty has impacted the multiplayer space in some pretty significant ways. Whether or not Call of Duty: Ghosts will be able to further that impact, however, is a question we won't be able to answer until, at the earliest, tomorrow.

Of course, if you happen to miss the Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer livestream rest assured that we will have full posts covering all the new announcements.

What do you hope Activision and Infinity Ward reveal at their event? Are there any changes you feel are essential to Call of Duty: Ghosts' success?
