Call of Duty: Ghosts is just days away from release, marking the first non-Modern Warfare game (or is it?) for developer Infinity Ward in five years and with its chief competitor in Battlefield 4 now on the market, Activision is pulling out all the stops to ensure the biggest shooter franchise in the world remains that way.

If the leaked details of achievements, new perks, weapons lists and maps caught your attention, there's still time to pre-order the game and doing so will grant access to the exclusive Free Fall map.

A new Call of Duty: Ghosts gameplay trailer just released to showcase the pre-order incentive which is described on the official COD site as a "dynamic bonus map" taking a cue from Battlefield 4's "levolution" features in each of its maps.

The brand-new Call of Duty: Ghosts’ multiplayer map Free Fall drops you into a shattered skyscraper on the brink of collapse. Sideways staircases climb into the night sky, elevator shafts run along the ground, and what were once windows now form a terrifying glass floor, hundreds of feet above the city streets.

Activision gave GameStop a deeper look at the new Extinction mode in Call of Duty: Ghosts, the four player co-op mode (think Treyarch's Call of Duty zombie modes) where players fight of aliens, earning money for kills to buy weapons. It's very fast-paced and plays similarly to Left 4 Dead but with a stationary point of defense and a lot more weapons.

While the regular multiplayer modes in Call of Duty: Ghosts launches with 14 maps, we're unsure at this point whether or not there will be additional Extinction maps to the one feature in the announcement trailer and this latest gameplay footage. If not, count on spending money on DLC more more aesthetic variety in the alien confrontation.

With a full-fledged co-op mode in Extinction and the new Squads mode, which also features a 4-player co-op mode (Safeguard) against waves of enemy soldiers - and event the co-op Squad Assault mode - Infinity Ward appears to be designing the most comprehensive co-op Call of Duty game yet, one where playing in Squads earns XP and unlocks that can be carried over to the standard player-vs-player modes. In the Squads modes, which let players build a team of 10 members, all of the modes can be played against bots, offering the perfect competitive and fun training ground where earning XP still matters.
