We all know that Black Ops is the next addition to the Call of Duty franchise, but what about the newly formed Respawn Entertainment? They have the rights to games in the Call of Duty/Modern Warfare franchise from the present to the future (which is why Treyarch has been making games based in World War II and now the Vietnam era). We here at Game Rant think, and hope, that the next game will feature space warfare.

That’s right, SPAAAAACE.

This is mostly because Respawn (when they were Infinity Ward proper) has already made fantastic games in the past and present. All that’s left is the future, and everyone knows that the future means outer space.

So, with that idea, I would like to propose to you what I think would make for an awesome bunch of killstreak rewards if this game ever comes to pass. We’ll start off from the bottom and work our way on up to the dreaded 25-kill reward.

4 Kills — Enhanced Perception

Maybe the goggles would look something like this

This reward takes one more kill than the standard UAV, but is a tad more useful. Activate the reward, and for a brief period of time you will have supernatural visual and auditory perception. The goggles let the user see enemies through nearby walls and can hear even the faintest of enemy footsteps around them.

5 Kills — Assault Rover

Like WALL-E...but with chain guns

Sentry guns are boring. Why, you ask? Well, to move them, you must pick them up yourself, which can be quite risky at times. This reward is slightly influenced by the attack dogs in World at War, but should be less rage inducing. The rover would roam around the battlefield for a period of time, gunning down enemy players. It can be destroyed like the sentry gun with a knife to the back, or temporarily disabled by stun grenades and flashbangs.

5 Kills — Comet (guided)

Comin' at ya, from SPAAAAACE!

Predator missiles are cool and all, but how about guiding a space projectile straight into your enemy? The guided comet works similarly to the predator missile in execution - by pulling out a laptop and controlling its plummet towards the ground. That said, a comet will be hitting its target with much more force. Because of this, the comet will be able to punch through buildings on the way to its final destination. To balance out this ability, the explosion will have a much smaller radius.

7 Kills — Meteor Shower

An artist's rendition of the killstreak reward

The meteor shower is a natural airstrike from the heavens. Choose the specific area that you would like your enemies to be pelted with space rocks, sit back, and watch the show. The impacts will also leave an amount of dust on the battlefield, temporarily obscuring the vision of the enemies.

9 Kills — UFO

Like this, but less boring looking. Oh yeah, and firing lasers.

This reward is a quick, furious, and calculated attack by an unidentified flying object. The UFO stays around for much less time than the helicopters or harrier in Modern Warfare 2, but they do their job much more efficiently. The player opens their laptop and selects three specific points on the map — waypoints for the UFO to follow. It flies in, attacks the areas with the ability to shoot lasers in multiple directions at the same time, and zips away.

11 Kills — Spaceship Gunner

Firing lasers directly at people is much more fun than shooting at TIE Fighters...maybe

A unique hybrid of the chopper gunner and the UFO, the spaceship gunner can plot out its path as it flies towards the battlefield. Once it reaches it though, it’s time for some destruction. The player controls the gunner seat of a spacecraft and can fire lasers towards the enemy team. If the laser doesn’t hit a person though, they leave small, white-hot glowing craters on the ground for a few brief seconds, which if stepped on, will slightly damage and slow down an enemy.

15 Kills — Oxygen Shortage

This man is suffering from a lack of oxygen. He surely cannot sprint.

This reward unleashes a full-scale attack on the entire other team. The enemy teams’ oxygen reserves are running low, and they’re going to suffer through a whole minute of the effects until it can be restored. The sprint duration of the team will be drastically reduced, and their health will be lowered a small amount, making them much more fragile on the battlefield.

20 Kills — Goldeneye Laser

The one thing missing from Goldeneye's multiplayer was the actual Goldeneye weapon.

You’ve gotten 20 kills in a row, so how about some more? Call upon a high-powered satellite hovering above you to destroy your opponents. The player takes an overhead view of the map, and directs a wide radius laser towards the enemies it wishes death on. There is a cooldown after each shot, and the angle can be changed so shooting into windows and buildings is possible.

25 Kills — Alien Abduction

My picture is terrible, I know. But it's still sort of adorable. Admit it.

What fun is a nuke if it kills you and everyone on your team as well? Sure that’s kind of a side effect of a nuke, but still, we could be more efficient here. Once the 25-kill streak is achieved, the player calls in the aliens (with some sort of unknown communication device). The ship will fly over enemy players, abduct them, and end the game as a win for your team. Everyone’s happy.
