Richard Connell argued that "The Most Dangerous Game" is man in his 1924 short story of the same name. However, Mixer streamer Settld might make the argument that Universal's classic monster The Invisible Man is more deadly given a video he captured of being killed by seemingly nothing in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Settld, a University of Texas at Dallas student named Daniel in his non-Internet life, has been livestreaming on Mixer (a platform that has been gaining steam after signing popular Fortnite player Ninja) since March 2019. He has recently been playing the latest title in a long series of first-person shooters by Infinity Ward, and uploaded the 20-second clip of his strange demise to the r/modernwarefare subreddit on Monday.

Viewers can see Settld exit a sheltered room on Winter Docks, the holiday-themed version of the Docks Gunfight Map that already received a patch in late December, with nothing in sight but an already dead body. He's killed a moment later, immediately ending the round, and only in the following KillCam can the assaulting opponent be seen. Settld even slows down his footage to show off the visual glitch.

The exact cause behind this particular glitch is unclear. Unfortunately, this kind of glitch is not an uncommon sight in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

The game has been marred by a seemingly endless onslaught of glitches and exploits since launch, ranging from issues with visibility for both Heads-Up Display icons and other players to unintended mechanics like players reviving themselves using grenades.

However it's important to note that the game's developers have been working constantly to update the game. In fact, people like Infinity Ward's Co-Design Director of Multiplayer Joe Cecot have been active on social media talking to players about pending updates and fixes.

Despite these problems, Modern Warfare is still hugely popular and even trying to make a positive impact on the world at large. Last week Infinity Ward announced an Outback Relief DLC pack which will send all its proceeds to disaster relief in Australia. The DLC is available until January 31, 2020.

But until all of the bugs have been ironed out, players like Settld will continue accumulating stories about strange occurrences throughout the game; whether they be kind of hilarious like the grenade revival trick, or outright game-breaking like players phasing out of maps entirely.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
