Call of Duty Ghosts Snoop Dogg Voice Pack

Despite a general sense of COD franchise fatigue with the latest series entry Call of Duty: Ghosts, developer Infinity Ward has continued to truck on with their DLC plans undeterred. Thus far, they've released two surprisingly substantial map/expansion packs and even added a few multiplayer skins in the mix.

One of the first and the likely the most intriguing multiplayer skin released for Call of Duty: Ghosts so far gave players the chance to done the likeness of Captain Price, but this latest one might do him one better. If a tease from Infinity Ward is to be believed, it looks like Soap MacTavish might also be joining the fray.

Soap, for those that might not know, is one of the main characters of the Modern Warfare franchise. In fact, one could argue that he is THE character from Modern Warfare, considering gamers mostly play as him throughout the series. Unfortunately, since Soap is the playable character of a first person shooter, some gamers might not actually know what he looks like. [Hint: that's him below].

So far, all we have to go by is the continue screen seen in the image above. At first it seemed a no-brainer that IW would fold Soap and other classic Call of Duty characters into the mix, but this continue screen draws some interesting questions. Could this be more than just a multiplayer skin?

While we'll likely have to wait at least a few more days before Infinity Ward reveals what exactly this Soap tie-in for Ghosts is, a new multiplayer skin seems to be the best bet. When the Captain Price skin was first unveiled we assumed his likeness would be the first of many, and it appears we were right.

But wait there's more. Just now Activision has also unveiled a new voice pack for Call of Duty: Ghosts that adds the dulcet tones of Snoop Dogg to the game. It appears that with this voice pack, as well as the additions of Michael Myers and the Predator into Call of Duty: Ghosts, Infinity Ward has fully embraced a less serious approach to DLC. With the franchise waning financially as of late any unconventional approach could work, even if it may cost the studio a little extra money up front.

As far as this new voice pack is concerned, check out Snoop in action in the trailer below:

While the idea of having Snoop Dogg narrate your multiplayer matches is all well and good the more important news item concerns the release date of said voice pack. According to Activision, Snoop Dogg's voice, as well as a few other customization items, will reportedly release on April 22nd for Xbox Live. They wouldn't confirm it, but it seems likely that this customization pack will also include the Soap MacTavish skin.

What are you more excited for: a Soap MacTavish skin or Snoop Dogg's voice? What other multiplayer skins should they add to the game?

Call of Duty: Ghosts' Snoop Dogg Voice Pack releases April 22, 2014 for Xbox platforms.
