Earlier today, Activision released the third DLC pack for Call of Duty: Ghosts to Xbox platforms. Titled Invasion, this pack, like the ones before it, features four new multiplayer maps and a new episode for the Extinction campaign.

However, as we near closer and closer to the launch of the next Call of Duty, Advanced Warfare, the value proposition behind these map packs tends to dwindle. Many gamers wonder whether it's worth paying the $15, especially if they could save the money and put it towards a future game.

So, in an effort to help with that decision, developer Infinity Ward has put together a series of walkthrough videos for all four of the new Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer maps. Those maps are Favela, Departed, Pharaoh, and Mutiny.

Favela (seen above) is the map Call of Duty fans will instantly recognize as a re-skinned version of the Modern Warfare 2 map of the same name. Re-skins have been a staple of COD map packs since the very beginning, and that trend continues with Invasion.

Mutiny is, personally, one of the cooler looking maps to have come to Call of Duty: Ghosts. Set on a docked pirate ship, the map lets players create their own swashbuckling adventures…only with guns instead of cutlasses. Also, there are ghosts.

Departed is the map set during the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration in a rural Mexican town. The map's major selling point is its Field Order unlock, which turns the player into the "Death Mariachi:" a dual-wielding skeleton capable of turning all they kill into minions.

And finally there's Pharaoh, which, as the name suggests, uses an Egyptian tomb as its backdrop. Like any good tomb, Pharaoh's landscape is peppered with plenty of traps, so players should watch their step.

Although it's not highlighted in any of these videos, the Invasion DLC pack also includes a new episode for Call of duty: Ghosts' Extinction campaign, titled Awakening. In this penultimate chapter, the team heads deeper beneath the surface in the hopes of uncovering the source of the Cryptid invasion and, more importantly, a way to stop it. As with previous episodes, Awakening features new weapons and new Cryptid types to contend with, meaning if players want to delve deeper into the story they'll need to be well prepared.

All told, Invasion is exactly what we've come to expect from Call of Duty map packs — nothing more, nothing less. Did we hope for another tie-in like the Michael Myers and Predator Field Order unlocks? Yes, but a ghost pirate ship will have to do.
