Predator Call of Duty Ghosts Devastation DLC Tease

[Update: confirmed with new Devastation DLC trailer.]

When Call of Duty: Ghosts treated fans to a surprising horror movie crossover with their Onslaught DLC many wrote the inclusion off as a one time thing. However, if a recent tease from developer Infinity Ward is any indication, movie crossovers might soon become a running joke among COD: Ghosts' DLC offerings.

While nothing is set in stone, a recent teaser video from the Call of Duty Instagram account suggests gamers might soon go toe-to-toe with the Predator in Ghosts' next DLC pack, Devastation. The video (seen below) is rather brief but features the player walking through one of the DLC pack's new maps, called Ruins, before an invisible assailant enters his sights.

The footage alone is enough to point the finger at a Predator crossover, but Infinity Ward has taken things a step further by including the caption, "If it bleeds…," with the video. That is, of course, an iconic line from the 1987 film.

So, assuming this Predator crossover is real, it's fair to also assume that the character will be a care package unlock for Ruins. And, if this unlock sticks to the precedent set by the Michael Myers unlock, then players should be able to jump into the Predator's futuristic boots after completing their field orders in a match.

For a franchise that is often criticized for its lack of innovation, it's hard to deny that this year's DLC has had a particular air of playfulness to it. First, the Michael Myers crossover in the Onslaught DLC and now this Predator crossover all suggest that the Call of Duty devs are starting to realize that a set of maps just isn't going to cut it anymore. Ghosts' map packs, for example, also include new episodes for a story-focused portion of the game's Extinction mode.

But now that Infinity Ward has established the potential for crossovers between Call of Duty: Ghosts and iconic movies, our minds are racing as to what the next two DLC packs might offer. You have to assume IW has saved the best for last, right?

Do you think movie crossovers like this are a good thing for Call of Duty? What other characters would you like to see appear as care package unlocks?
