Rumor Patrol: Black Ops Swaps ‘Nazi Zombies’ for ‘Commie Zombies’

Sep 5, 2010 by

Black Ops, Zombies

Zombies are many people’s biggest fear. Another one of people’s biggest fears. Communists. Okay maybe not since the ‘50s but still, at one point, people feared them. What if one game developer was planning on taking your fears and putting them into a Jack Lelane juicer to create  a concoction so terrifying just reading about it will make your blood curdle?

Currently, the rumor around the game news streets is that included with your copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops, will be a Zombie Mode that, this time utilizes Communist Zombies as machine gun fodder.

Currently, this is just a rumor, and is based merely on a second hand account of a start screen viewing, but for now we are sticking to the belief that Treyarch has no plans of include zombie mode in the game. The lack of in-game zombies means the only instance of undead game action might be the zombie map pack included with the Hardened and Prestige Editions.

Though, once again, demolishing zombies of an unfavorable political persuasion would be a treat, this would only be the icing on an already delicious cake. World at War’s multiplayer was a few paces behind Modern Warfare’s and Treyarch knew it.

In an effort to compensate for a lack of depth they added content that would extend the play experience (ie. Nazi Zombies). But with Wager Match having already sold me on anything Black Ops, any form of zombie mode, while appreciated, is unnecessary.

If it were me, I would hold off on the zombie mode until players have become better acquainted with the rich and rewarding multiplayer being put together, then hit them with the zombies. Commie Zombies. Nazi Zombies. Rob Zombies. Any type of zombies included in the game will most definitely satisfy a whole lot of gamers out there. If I were Treyarch, and I know the zombie mode is coming in one form or another, I would let the people have it. While sometimes it is the best idea to keep your hand as close to the chest as possible, when you already have four aces up your sleeve, you can let your guard down.

How do you feel about the possible Communist Zombies Ranters? How would you feel if there were no zombie mode in Black Ops? Let us know in the comments below.

Call of Duty: Black Ops kicks McCarthyism in the face when it is released for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, and DS on November 9th, 2010.

  1. While the game seems to be overlowing with multiplayer options already, I still want to see some type of zombie mode return. I liked the horde mode, survival elements to Nazi Zombies, as it was an interesting diversion from the competitive side of the MP. The only thing I am worried about is could all these modes split the player base too much. Say there are 700,000 people playing. If they are split across 10 different game types and modes are you going to have a big enough pool of players to work with on these?

  2. Oh hell yes! Bring on the zombies. I really did not enjoy World at War but Nazi Zombies I absolutely loved. Although, Black Ops multiplayer is starting to look a lot more on par, if not better than Modern Warfare 2. So here’s hoping.

  3. The zombie mode was the best part of World at War, although, I can see why Treyarch may exclude it if they really wanted players to focus on the multiplayer aspect of the game… still want ‘em though :(

  4. no zombie mode im not buyin it.

  5. we all want 2 c a zombie mode in cod:BO n if u dont wana c it then u dont have 2 plsy it, but it was a better part of the game 2 get away frm the bs in mp… we want a ZOMBiE MODE iN BO !!! lOl

  6. The wager matches looks sick, but I still want to see zombies. If Treyarch adds zombies this will give them a reason to make more money. It gives Treyarch the ability to fill up their bank account quicker with add-ons in the future. Plus this will draw other gamers to buy Black Ops strictly for the zombie mode.

  7. actually hope nazi zombie wont be on black ops.. Not that i didn’t enjoy it on world at war.. actually i loved it so much i bought 2 1600 ms points just to get all the maps.., but dont get me wrong when is say this but… if treyarch Puts zombies/ nazi zombies idgaf what you want to call it.. but if they put it on there.. The game will basically be a remake of WaW and well i loved WaW for the zombies but i think we can all agree that the multiplayer (online) was horrible becuase they spent More time patching the glitches on zombies that they didn’t realize that what they really gotta fix was the multiplayer. Plus i think that nazi zombies was only good for one game and it would very pointless to put it on Black Ops because i think we can all agree that most of you who bought WaW only bought it for the zombies… and if they put it on Black Ops then if you were one of the people who bought WaW for zombies.. You basically wasted 50$ you could be using on something like Ms points or if you have ps3 maybe play station point or whatever you call it (I don’t have a ps3 i have an xbox so dont get bad a bitch at me because i dont know what you call the stuff for ps3). i Also think that it would be a big waste of money to put zombies on black ops because it would be a complete remake of WaW and would completely suck. If you have seen an actual preview of Black Ops(BO) Then you would know and probably see were they copied Mw2. But other wise i hope they will not be having zombies/Nazi zombie mode on Black Ops… But what i hope they do have is the same blood graphics they had in WaW because that is probably the only thing good that WaW has that Mw2 Doesn’t.. So I hope thats there…

  8. I love me sum zombies..but im not gonna pay for the hardened edition so i hope they just put it in the regular game. BOFTW
