Activision releases an action-packed trailer for the Nuketown remake map that will be available to anyone that pre-orders the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

Few could argue that the Nuketown map that debuted in Call of Duty: Black Ops is one of the most popular maps in the franchise's storied history. Its unique visual style and small size have made it a perfect fit for the fast-paced multiplayer action of the Call of Duty series, with Activision reviving it for a return appearance in Black Ops 2, as well as in Nuketown Zombies. Nuketown literally has songs made in its honor, so it's no wonder that Activision is bringing Nuketown back for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

Even considering the immense popularity of Nuketown, it's not every day that a single multiplayer map gets its own dedicated trailer. However, that's the case with Nuketown, or "Nuk3town" as it is referred to in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

The trailer begins by taking players on a trip down memory lane, showing Nuketown as it appeared in Black Ops and Black Ops 2, before cutting to the brand new version of Nuketown as it will appear in Black Ops 3. Thankfully, Nuketown looks almost unchanged in terms of layout, but the aesthetic now reflects futuristic model homes with androids as opposed to a 1950s suburb with mannequins.

The buses, houses, yards, and everything seem to be just as players should remember them from the previous games in the series. However, a new addition in the form of a wall around the edges of the map has been added, likely to take advantage of the wall-running traversal system that is being used in Black Ops 3. See the new Nuketown for yourself in the trailer below:

For fans of the franchise, this trailer should be fairly exciting, especially when one considers that the map isn't being radically redesigned, as is all too common with remakes of other Call of Duty maps. It's basically the same exact Nuketown fans have come to know and love, and that's probably the best approach to take.

The downside to the Nuketown map is that it does require a Black Ops 3 pre-order for access. We have no doubt that it will be available for separate purchase at a later date, but those that want to play Nuketown on launch day will definitely need to pre-order. That being said, the PS3 and 360 versions of the game won't be receiving the Nuketown bonus map at all, which was expected after it was announced that the last-gen versions won't even have a season pass.

Love it or hate it, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is one of the most anticipated game of the year for many gamers, and for good reason. The game is bringing to the table significant value, with a 4-player co-op campaign, the Shadows of Evil Zombies mode, the full-fledged Call of Duty multiplayer experience, split-screen functionality, and more. With only a week to go until the game's launch, Black Ops 3 is shaping up to be the best Call of Duty experience in years.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be available next Friday, November 6th for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. For those looking to purchase the game, keep in mind that the 360 and PS3 versions do not have campaign mode, nor will they have access to the Nuketown bonus map.
