Alongside Destiny 2's announcement of the upcoming Guardian Games 2021 event, Bungie opened up a vote for fans to choose a new Ornament to add to the game. While last month's vote was for an armor set, Destiny 2's new poll lets players choose a new exotic weapon ornament.

Last month's vote was centered around Destiny 2's upcoming Festival of the Lost event and saw players picking between dinosaur and monster armor Ornaments that players will be able to unlock. Ornaments are cosmetics that change the appearance of high-level armor and weapons in Destiny 2 that are usually earned through timed events or purchased through the game's store, the Eververse.

In a new blog post, Bungie explains that they were very pleased with the player engagement they saw through last month's Ornament vote and wanted to do it for Destiny 2's next exotic weapon Ornament. The posted poll lets players choose for 3 out of 12 Ornament options, covering a variety of weapons. The options players have to choose from are the Crimson, Fighting Lion, Graviton Lance, Le Monarque, Merciless, Riskrunner, Skyburner's Oath, Sunshot, Sweet Business, Telesto, Trinity Ghoul, and Vigilance Wing exotic weapons. Ornaments range from color palette swaps to intricate makeovers that completely change the look of the weapon.

The poll does not include concept art for any of the Ornaments, unlike last month's that had rough designs of the options for players to see when they voted. Interestingly, most of the weapons listed already have two or three Ornaments in the game, with only the exotic bows Le Monarque and Trinity Ghoul having one Ornament and no Ornaments respectively. The vote seems like a great way to get Destiny 2 players invested in the Ornament scene, and should help the game's next weapon Ornament be a widely desired one that many players will use.

Exotic gear is a big part of Destiny 2, and each exotic weapon has a lot of personality through both their mechanics as well as their appearances. Ornaments are a great way for dedicated Destiny 2 players to customize their favorite exotics and help their guardians stand out from their peers, and a lot of them look pretty sharp. The previous Ornament vote seems to have been a big success for the game, so hopefully, Destiny 2's future will have more opportunities for members of the Destiny 2 community to get involved with the game's development, be that through Ornaments or other mechanics.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
