After Epic's incredibly clever and snarky shot at the Call of Duty series, EA has now whet the appetite of gamers even further by offering up a free helping of Shank for pre-ordering the limited edition of Bulletstorm from the EA Store.

"From the 7th Feb through until launch of the massively anticipated Bulletstorm, if you pre-order Bulletstorm Limited Edition on PC from EA Store you will receive a free copy of Shank on PC DD."

Keep in mind, this Limited Edition is separate from the Xbox 360 exclusive Epic Edition, which will include access to the Gears of War 3 beta. It seems that Epic and EA might actually be investing in gamers who might purchase the swear-ridden and bullet-infested title on a platform other than the Microsoft console. Unfortunately, Epic isn't as generous with Sony's console - as the PS3 will not be receiving any comparable pre-order content.

The free digital download is a worthy bonus, and Shank is a game worth playing, especially if you're getting it for free.

The Limited Edition is, for all intent and purposes, just another name for the Epic Edition, sans Gears 3, access and contains a myriad of in-game bonuses, including:

  • 25,000 Experience Points
  • Visual Upgrades for the Iconic Leash
  • Deadly Peace Maker Carbine
  • Additional Boots and Armor

Playing dress up with Grayson Hunt will be simple as ever with the PC and PS3 version! The Limited Edition will cost the exact same price as the standard version - so if you plan on picking up Bulletstorm anyway, there's no reason to avoid the Limited Edition.

How does everyone feel about receiving a free copy of Shank with their pre-order of Bulletstorm for PC? Is this really enough to sway anyone who was going to buy the Xbox 360 Epic Edition into changing their minds?

With or without a free copy of Shank, Bulletstorm and all its editions will storm their way to retail on February 22, 2011 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
