Borderlands November Update

Gearbox's Borderlands hasn't even been out for a full year, but it's already had three downloadable add-ons. The first had zombies. The second had a battle dome. The third had assassins and an armory. Where can the game go next?

Fans of the game did some investigating, searching through the files and code of  the newest update for Borderland's PC version. In the files are content meant for the next set of DLC. Here's the story gathered from the files, being as spoiler free as possible.

The main villains are Claptraps, the robots that everyone has a love-hate relationship with. It seems the little yellow dancing machines have had enough of being target practice. So how do they get back at Pandora, the cruel world full of bandits and mutant dogs? It's logical, of course: by finding dead people and combining them with Claptrap parts and making zombie-robot enemies. This will include Claptrap Skags, Claptrap Midgets, Claptrap Psychos, and even Claptrap bosses.

Claptrap
Hey, check me out everybody! I'm dancin', I'm dancin'!

There appears to be around 20 or so quests included with the content along with plenty of new dialog. There's no word if any level cap increase will take place or any other features that are included. Of course, I'm sure there will be new weapons and grenade modifications to make it worth your money.

There's even been official word backing the content leak. Head of Gearbox Randy Pitchford teased us on Twitter:

"OMG! You're in our files, stealing our secrets! Interplanetary Ninja Assassin Clap Trap will KEEL you!

Seriously guys? This is like reading a draft of a script for a movie that hasn't even been announced yet!"

Unfortunately, the add-on still isn't complete. In an interview with IGN, Randy let us know there is more we haven't heard about yet:

"Seeing that this happened does make me want to hide some super juicy secrets in the DLC, though. If we do, we'll be sure to hide them really good, though, so it takes more than a day to find them."

Borderlands is hands down my favorite game in the past few years. The ending ended a bit abruptly, but there's been an ample amount of DLC to keep players involved. I'm personally happy to see the older characters returning - especially Claptrap.

What do you think of the story so far? Is there anything else you'd like to see, like a higher level cap or newer skills?

Expect to see more for this untitled Borderlands DLC for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC when the official announcements come out.
