Borderlands 2's third DLC expansion, Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt, has arrived, and to celebrate developer Gearbox Software have released a launch trailer that teases all of the new additions to Pandora. Front and center, as the trailer above explains, is a new villain, Professor Nakayama, a conspicuous looking man with a shoulder-mounted turret.

Nakayama prowls the new area of Aegrus, a locale that is sure to be filled to the brim with new colorful loot to collect (and subsequently sell for cold hard cash). So even if you've grown quite attached to that shiny new sniper rifle, be prepared to make a "Sophie's Choice" when this DLC throws an even better gun your way.

Alongside a new cast of characters and a new storyline for Borderlands 2, Big Game Hunt also rolls out a new vehicle for players to tool around with, a sort-of fan boat swamp skimmer. Unlike a few of Borderlands' previous downloadable offerings, Hammerlock appears to be quite substantial.

Thus far Borderlands 2 players — at least, those that have been able to play the game without any game-breaking or game-ruining problems — have been treated to three pieces of DLC: the Mechromancer class, the Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty expansion, and Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage.

Captain Scarlett is presumably similar to Sir Hammerlock in that they both offer new areas, new enemies, and their own storyline — whereas Mr. Torgue is really just a tournament and the Mechromancer class is just a new way to experience the game. Sir Hammerlock is definitely the type of DLC we have come to expect.

And it can be yours for either $9.99/800 MS Points, or as part of the Season Pass.

Have you had a chance to check out Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt? What do you think? What would you like to see in future DLC?
