New ‘Borderlands 2′ Trophies Reveal Next DLC Expansion

Borderlands 2 Next DLC

The first DLC expansion for Borderlands 2, Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty, has been available for less than a week, but already it appears that Gearbox Software is gearing up for their next DLC offering. While it’s unclear if this next piece of content will be included under the Season Pass umbrella, it seems to be offering players more tasks to complete in the world of Pandora.

Like Captain Scarlett, the skinny on this next DLC was leaked by an update to the Borderlands 2 trophy list, which has grown by three since last we checked. Rather than have gamers outright realize, Gearbox tried to be sneaky by updating the trophies along with patching many of the game’s problems (at least on the PS3).

Based on the trophies, clever NeoGAF users were able to ascertain that the next expansion will be titled Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage. Additionally, the DLC will include a new set of collectibles – pictures of Moxxi, one of the stars of the first Borderlands‘ expansions.

Unfortunately, though, these trophies aren’t nearly as telling as the ones for Scarlett, which outright confirmed that a new play space was going to be added to the game. For all we know, Mr Torgue’s Campaign could be similar to the aforementioned Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot, which was more of an arena-style, survive hordes of enemies experience than a fully-fledged story expansion.

Here are the three trophies now added to the Borderlands 2 list. See what you can glean from them:

1 Bronze - Explosive – Complete the mission “Long Way To The Top”.
1 Silver - Motorhead – Completed all Campaign of Carnage side missions.
1 Gold - Obsessed – Collected 10 pictures of Moxxi in Campaign of Carnage.

Given that Captain Scarlett only released a few days ago we aren’t holding our breath on this next expansion releasing any time soon, however once trophies were discovered for Scarlett it was only about a week until it was out in the wild. This doesn’t mean that Gearbox can’t start slowing teasing Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage with a few screenshots and maybe a trailer, though.

Are you ready for the next Borderlands 2 expansion? Based on the brief trophy description and name, what do you think Campaign of Carnage’s inspiration will be?

Borderlands 2 is out now for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

  1. I am all for as many updates, DLC’ s and goodies Gearbox has to offer for BL2. These guys do it right (except for the prices)

    • The prices are fine. the pirate dlc is only 10 dollars. thats fine. but it shouldnt go over that, unless the dlc is huge then an increase could be ok.

  2. if we get something on the scale of what shivering isles offered then 10 is fine but if we get a full blown expansion worth 20 or 30 ill pay especially if its pack loaded as the main game

  3. 10$ for s ton of stuff off there first dlc is good. Considering season pass cost 30$ you get one c free they will all be 10$. Shoot bette then 15$ for 3 remade cod maps

  4. the game is incredibly boring and im nearly done with PT1, really hope the difficulty isnt as bad as people say it is in true vault hunter difficulty b/c that will make me regret buying the season pass since i want to play with the mecro as well but dont have time to waste every night doing tedious fetch quests and running back and forth.

    • Then don’t play. Its that simple
