Borderlands 2 Dishonored DLC News

We've got a couple of DLC news stories for gamers today. First up is the announcement of the Borderlands 2: Add-On Content Pack, which is in stores right now. The Add-On Pack includes all of the previously released Borderlands 2 expansions, including Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty and Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage. Developer Gearbox Software claims the pack is a $40 value, but it is offered for only $29.99.

In addition to the two expansion packs, the Add-On pack also includes the 'Mechromancer' character class, the Creature Slaughter Dome battle arena, a few new weapons, additional heads and skins for the four in-game classes, and a golden key to unlock special loot. Granted, most of this content is already available in downloadable form, but this is the first time Borderlands 2 DLC has been featured on retail shelves.

Now, although the announcement of this Add-On pack suggests this content is all that Borderlands 2 has to offer post-game, that is not the case. According to Gearbox Software's Randy Pitchford, there is more content on the way.

In response to a fan question on Twitter, Pitchford revealed that a sixth playable character class is on the way, as is more content for the single player campaign. As of this moment, Gearbox has yet to make good on the promise made with the unveiling of their Season Pass, which reportedly included 3 single player DLC additions.

Pitchford wouldn't say what exactly fans can expect, but more content for Borderlands 2 is always a good thing. As far as when retailers might see this content in disc form, we'd venture to guess a Game of the Year edition is in the pipeline.

Switching gears a little bit, there was also news of Dishonored DLC that leaked earlier this week, which focused on the next single player expansion for Arkane Studios' supernatural stealth game. The next DLC is reportedly titled 'The Other Side of the Coin' and will feature content similar to what was available in the main game. That is to say that it won't be the trials-based experience that the first DLC, the appropriately titled Dunwall City Trials, but will in fact have its own story.

A few trophies for The Other Side of the Coin have made their way online, and they give some sense of what the second DLC will offer. However, there is no clue as to when the DLC might release, although if trophies are now available, it could be very soon. Check the list of trophies below, but be warned if there might be spoilers:

Again, Arkane Studios is tasking players with completing the DLC without killing (or alerting) anyone, a task that will require deft use of the game's many abilities. Dishonored was one of our favorite games from last year, so we can't to jump back into that world.
