Blizzard has released another round of screenshots for the highly anticipated Diablo III. In The wake of all the Starcraft II jitter, these were released reminding us about the next installment of the Diablo series – and it looks promising.
The screenshots show a nice upgrade in the graphics quality, as expected since it’s previous release was a decade ago. The textures and environments feel refreshing, familiar but new. You can’t help but notice the vivid bursts of color in any of the screenshots demonstrating spellcasts, which stand out great against the dark and dismal environments.
I’m very excited for the release of Diablo III. I played Diablo II veraciously, multiple times through with different character classes. It i s easily one of my favorite games of all time, so here’s hoping Diablo III provides similar experiences. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until at least 2011 to find out.

Man, this is the slowest roll-out ever. Blizzard, release the thing already!
Seriously! It looks so playable! Then again, they are the pros. It better be perfection!
The inclusion of gameplay from the God of War / Ninja Gaiden series and the puzzling dungeon crawling from the Zelda series I think was a stroke of genius. Now will it pan out? Who knows, but its definitely thinking outside the box.
However, after playing Borderlands, I am a slight bit concerned about their locked character stats. Having fixed stats in Borderlands severely reduced its re-playability.
If anyone's curious, I just happened upon a blog that's giving out free Diablo 3 beta keys.
They said they are doing it as a preventative measure against the rampant invite selling and scamming happening with the Starcraft 2 beta.
