Black Ops Tops Xbox LIVE Activity

Yes, it is another week that the latest Call of Duty entry, Black Ops has topped the activity chart for Xbox LIVE, followed by another game in the same line of games: Modern Warfare 2. According to stats gathered from Xbox LIVE starting the week of November 22, Black Ops continues to occupy many Xbox 360 disc trays as players continue to frag one another against a late 60s backdrop. Interestingly, the fifth position in the list happens to be Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, the first title in the series that offers a multiplayer option.

The top 20 list of activity follows:

01. Call of Duty: Black Ops
02. Modern Warfare 2
03. Halo: Reach
04. FIFA Soccer 11
05. Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood
06. Madden NFL 11
07. Halo 3
08. Fallout: New Vegas
09. NBA 2K11
10. Fable III
11. Call of Duty: WaW
12. GTA IV
13. Call of Duty 4
14. Gears of War 2
15. Red Dead Redemption
16. Forza Motorsport 3
17. Battlefield: Bad Co. 2
18. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit
19. Kinect Adventures!
20. NHL 11

Always interesting knowing what people are playing the most. No surprise Halo: Reach finds itself in the top three with Halo 3 in seventh place. Unusually enough, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 finds itself woefully in seventeenth place, a shame for such a great online shooter. Even more surprising is the vast quantities of people who are playing titles from long yesteryear: Call of Duty 4, World at War, and even Grand Theft Auto IV find temselves beating Red Dead Redemption, which just released its ‘Undead Nightmare’ DLC.

Judging by how popular Black Ops was during launch day and the more than $1 billion worth of Modern Warfare 2, it will be quite a long time until either of these games are shaken from their place at the top of the board, and if/when it happens, it might just be another Call of Duty game, if not another long awaited shooter.

  1. More reasons why I need to pick this up…

  2. Call of Duty is a fantastic title for sure, and it deserves to be in the top 5 without a doubt. That being said, I personally feel like Brotherhood should be in the top 3, at least.

  3. I must admit that I’m surprised at how high FIFA charted.

  4. I have been playing Halo: Reach nonstop. I won’t be surprised if it tops the charts soon with the release of the Noble Map Pack.
