The second map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops released today and while we work on our review, we have another video for the 'Escalation' DLC. As we know, the DLC contains 4 standard multiplayer maps and one zombie-themed level titled Call of the Dead.

Treyarch went all-out for this one though, bringing in Hollywood talents Robert Englund (Nightmare on Elm Street), Danny Trejo (Machete), Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy: The Vampire Slayer), Michael Rooker (The Walking Dead) and even zombie legend George A. Romero (Night of the Living Dead) to bring the likeness and voice to the four playable characters and the main villain and now you can see them in action with the opening cinematic to the level.

You have have seen the funny Escalation trailer, but the buzz is coming from the zombies. Much like the Pentagon zombie map in the retail version of Black Ops which featured JFK and Fidel Castro as playable zombie slayers, Escalation also comes with a little story behind it. Watch and see:

How fitting is it that each actor brings to the table attributes from their most famous characters: Sarah Michelle Gellar fighting like she does in Buffy, Trejo using machetes and Englund saying "this is a real nightmare." If Call of the Dead were an actual movie, this would be its movie trailer.

It's campy, but so are most zombie flicks from Romero. I'm surprised this idea hasn't already been implemented into one of his movies. Here's the movie-style poster Activision sent us for Call of the Dead:

With the zombie mode being so popular for Treyarch's last two Call of Duty installments, what will Infinity Ward/Sledgehammer add as additional fun content or gameplay modes to Modern Warfare 3? Modern Warfare 2 featured Spec Ops mode but that was limited to two players.

The Escalation DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops is now available on the Xbox 360.
