‘Black Ops 2′ Nuketown 2025 Trailer; Pre-Order Season Pass Now

Nov 2, 2012 by

As we’ve already reported gamers who pre-order a copy of Black Ops 2, the highly anticipated next entry in the Call of Duty franchise, will net themselves a 2025 version of the classic Nuketown map from the first Black Ops. While details regarding how gamers can secure themselves the map have been crystal clear – simply pre-order Black Ops 2 from any major retailer – there hasn’t been too much info shared about the make-up of the map.

However, a new trailer has been released that showcases Nuketown 2025 in all its glory, and will bring a big smile to fans of the original Nuketown’s faces. As the trailer above shows, Nuketown 2025 is essentially what we were promised: an updated version of the Treyarch‘s multiplayer map.

More importantly it appears that the symmetrical design of the Nuketown map – featuring two idyllic homes situated opposite each other in a cul-de-sac – is well preserved. In all honesty, if it weren’t for the overall change in color palette and little futuristic flourishes, it would be easy to mistake this map for the original Nuketown. It even appears to have the classic match-ending nuclear explosion, but will there be some awesome Easter Eggs.

And, of course, the only way to secure Nuketown 2025 is to pre-order a copy of Black Ops 2 – but while you’re at it, anyone that is interested can also pre-order the Black Ops 2 Season Pass and net themselves some additional bonuses in the process. While it’s nothing as cool as Nuketown 2025, any gamer that pre-orders the Season Pass will net themselves an in-game calling card – a way to distinguish themselves from the pack.

Activision isn’t explaining what exactly the calling card bonus entails, but if it’s anything like Call of Duty Elite Premium we’re guessing players will be able to brandish their online persona with a unique emblem, icon, or something similar.

Unfortunately, as Activision explains, the Season Pass is currently only coming to the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, but the publisher is working hard to bring it to the Wii U as well. Clearly Nintendo’s new online service requires a little more fine-tuning before things like DLC can become available.

What do you think of Nuketown 2025? Will you be pre-ordering the Season Pass for Black Ops 2?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 releases November 13, 2012 for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC, and November 18th for the Wii U.

  1. it looks really futuristic hahaha.

As for the season pass… i dunno. Elite was the biggest waste of my money yet. We ps3 users were left in the dark continuously and never got a peep out of them. They said one month but that was never the case sometimes 5-6 weeks until we got the DLC.
They took the p*** right outta us. Ill decide when the first maps start to come around, after all, they should be including a zombie map on the DLC packs. Thank goodness it not monthly and they went back to packs.

  2. I thought they were going to reconfigure it, but they kept everything in the same spot and just coated in a futuristic paint. I’m not sure how I feel about that.

I might pre-order the season pass because I liked Black Ops and I liked its map packs. With Treyarch designing the maps instead of crappy Infinity Ward, I’m sure BO2′s map packs will be pretty good, too.

  3. Why is it, that every time I hear Nuketown I keep thinking about Nuka cola from Fallout 3. Anyway, I’ll be waiting for the Wii-U version.

    • Lol I know right?!?

  4. depressing how all you need to do is show mindless shooting to grab the attention of teens these days… if 343 did something like this for halo4, i bet all the CoD f***ers would cry about how it showcases nothing but mindless violence, yet they’d get their d***s hard over this bs re-release of a poorly designed map that is made for the one purpose of pissing people off.

ohh wait i’m being negative and am not conforming… sorry about that. this game will be donwright epic, f*** haters, this map and all the maps in the game are pure genius designs and really test a players skills. halo 4 is trash compared to this master piece, day 1 purchase for me all the way (gonna go down and pre-order it now).

    • Shut up and go play Skyrim

      • why do you get so angry over what other people like? How does it affect you in any way?

        • it effects me b/c this PoS franchise takes attention away from the fps games that deserve attention, it’s b/c of this franchise that sales for other shooters fall short of what they need in order to keep the studio intact (by this i mean people not getting fired).

it’s b/c of this franchise that we have barely seen any innovation in modern shooters the past few years and it is b/c of this franchise that the internet is swarming with trashy CoD gameplay vids, no matter what i search for on youtube there is more then likely going to be a CoD video popping up within the 1st 2 pages.

          good enough reasons ?

    • jawalka strikes again….

ive replied to this freak before and even said to him to not bother coming to a cod video again if he hates it so much but he just cant help himself. im sure he is the definition of troll and i know for a fact this guy is getting this game.
the poor soul has nothing better to do in his life. i bet he is just sitting at home watching pokemon or some crap like that waiting for halo hahahaha

      • ‘i know for a fact’
how do you know as ‘fact’ that i’ll be getting a game that i trash every opportunity i get numbnuts ? incase you didn’t know, life did exist before the internet and its crackpot junkies so how about you get a reality check before outright assume you know what i’m going to do.

  5. where exactly can i pre order the season pass???…i dont see it on the psn store ad diddnt see anything in any stores???

    • I’ve been wondering the same thing.

      • yeah….i dont exactly see how anyone can pre order something if anyones site or store doesnt have any sort of details about it…i cant even search for it….
