After sweeping the Grammy Awards, it's safe to say that Billie Eilish is easily one of the most popular musicians in the entire world right now. While some gamers may not necessarily be interested in Eilish's music, they may be interested to know that her mother, Maggie Baird, has done voice acting in video games, including BioWare's Mass Effect franchise.

While this knowledge would have been easily accessible by anyone who bothered to look into it, it's gotten some new attention thanks to Guild Wars 2 composer Maclaine Diemer. Diemer pointed out that Eilish's mom Maggie Baird played Samara in Mass Effect 2 and 3, though that wasn't her only video game role. Baird's earliest video game role was in 1999 in Battlezone 2: Combat Commander.

Baird hasn't appeared in a video game since 2013's Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13, in which she played "additional voices." Fans may also be interested to learn that Baird did some voice work for both Saints Row 2 and Saints Row 3 as well, not to mention EverQuest 2 and Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption.

It's unclear why Baird hasn't voiced a video game since 2013, but it seems that she mostly stopped working that year in general. Her last feature film role was 2013's Life Inside Out, whereas her last television role was in 2013's See Dad Run. She appeared in a short film in 2016 and edited her daughter's Six Feet Under music video that same year, but otherwise has not been an active performer. It seems as though she has been spending her time accompanying her daughter on music tours instead of working as an actor.

In the meantime, Billie Eilish herself appears to be a fan of video games. Her song "ilomilo" is named after the video game of the same name, with the lyrics in that song reflecting similar themes as the puzzle platformer.

Considering the connection between Eilish's mom and the video game industry, perhaps we will see Eilish appear in a video game or two down the road. If nothing else, it's likely that Billie Eilish songs will start appearing in more sports titles, like how "You Should See Me in a Crown" was on the FIFA 19 soundtrack.
