Battlefield: Bad Company 2 players, DICE has got some great news for you: two new maps will be available for download March 30th. Better still, if you are a VIP, these maps are free. Here’s the lowdown, straight from the Battlefield Blog:
Arica Harbor Conquest mode – US Command launches a break through action directly at the Russian base. Collateral damage is of no consequence. Capture and secure tactical positions in Conquest Mode across the vast Arica Harbor map.
Laguna Presa Rush mode – The valley and surrounding mountains possess a strategic value in the battle for South America, and an infantry assault supported by light armor vehicles is likely by both armies as US forces defend the nearby Dam.

VIP Map Pack 2
Every new copy of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 comes packed with a VIP code. Gamers who landed a used copy of Bad Company 2 can purchase a code through the in-game store for $15.
Now, the attentive readers out there can’t have missed the significance of the release date for the new maps. That’s right, Modern Warfare 2′s Stimulus Pack is releasing the same day (though only on Xbox 360). While pricing on the Stimulus Pack has yet to be announced, DICE’s KM Troedsson would like to point out that, by offering free maps, Battlefield is,” contradicting the industry standard and what our direct competitors are doing.”
So there you have it. Battlefield has been getting some great reviews. Free new maps are just icing on the cake. When the day comes, will you be joining the Bad Company, or will you continue to engage in Modern Warfare?

On March 30th, I will split my time evenly with them both. 2x the enjoyment!
You forgot to mention, this whole “VIP” and not “VIP” BS is console only. The map pack will be part of the update for PC users. Read: The map pack will always be free for all PC players.
PWNED. I'm liking this game more and more. Better graphics on PC, more players at the same time in PC's multiplayer, free map packs. Looks like they didn't dump on their PC market like Modern Warfare 2.
I love the jabs at MW2 in Bad Company 2's dialogue. Anyone catch the “they will send in spec ops douchebags with heartbeat sensors on their guns” quote in the game? lol. Or the “Snowmobiles are for pussies!” lol. Freakin classic…
That's AWESOME that they're giving MAPs for free on BF:BC2. That's how it always used to be on the PC versions of the earlier Battlefield titles. Extra maps came with updates and patches to allow more for users to play. Not anymore, not with the consoles DLC.
Activision is in trouble now with the whole Infinity Ward mess and now this direct competition and infinitely better deal comes against them when they finally release their long-awaited DLC.
Not to mention this new Medal of Honor game coming out that s aiming to be a direct competition for MW2 and it appears to be less fluff and more realistic and serious. They got me interested if it ll have a good multiplayer mode… We ll see…
So these maps come out on all platforms, which is sweet. I have the pc version, & playing it at max settings
