Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam

EA Games and DICE are cranking up the production machine as four new VIP maps are coming to Battlefield Bad Company 2 tomorrow, Battlefield Play4Free closed beta is active today, and Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam has a release date.

To say there has been some sizzling news coming from DICE in the last month about Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam may be an understatement, but at least fans can rest easy now that the add-on will launch on December 21 (December 22 for Europe).

Steam on the other hand is showing a release date of December 18, which may be the three day advance access for pre-ordering it. The add-on will cost $15 for the PC and PS3 versions – or 1,200 Microsoft Points for the Xbox 360.

The Vietnam add-on will bring four new maps, six vehicles (including the tuk-tuk), 15 weapons, music based on the era, and some new achievements or trophies. For those who can’t wait until the release, 32bita released a leaked video displaying the navigation options, weapons and vehicles for Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam.

In preparation for the new Vietnam add-on and VIP Map Pack 7, DICE also rolled out a new patch to fix a few more balance issues. The update also contains all of the VIP Map Pack 7 information, so servers should automatically allow the new levels to run on them tomorrow. Some of the more notable balance issues that have been addressed are:

  • Fixed slug shotgun zoom crosshair on PC so they better represent the long range accuracy.
  • Reduced slug shotgun hip accuracy to require zooming for consistent long range accuracy.
  • Acog and Red dot scope now equippable on MK-14 and G3.
  • Fixed a bug where Vehicle Countermeasures would fail to remove tracer darts at high speed.
  • Reduced all weapon damage to the MCOM by 50%.
  • Fixed a C4 vs MCOM exploit on Atacama Desert.

VIP Map Pack 7 will unlock four new maps: Cold War, Heavy Metal, Oasis and Harvest Day. DICE has also created a new trailer that features gameplay on the new maps, which notably shows some additions to the level destructibility.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam will release for PC on December 18, and December 21 for Xbox 360 and PS3. VIP Map Pack 7 will be available tomorrow.

Now that DICE has slated updates and add-ons through the end of the year, when do you think Battlefield 3 will be the topic of discussion?

  1. I’m curious to see how this will sell.

  2. battlefield BC2 MP was/is terrible, maps are way to large, not enough people per game and to many objective based game types. this will probably tread over the same muddy f***ed up path like its predecessor (BF:BC2).

    • Bad Company 2 is an amazing game, far better than any of those COD ripoffs. Also what is BC2 MP? I don’t believe there is a title with those initials.

      • jwalka is a retard. The battlefield experience is that of its own. If you want cod style gameplay, go play that game. I have played every battlefield game to date and this being the only one I have played on a console and I love it. I own black ops as well, but love battlefield so much more. Tanks, choppers, every type of infantry possible…and oh….might I add realistic to a point.

Have you tried the squad deathmatch option?

  3. I also own BF Bad Company 2 and Black Ops, Bad Company takes it in my book. In my opinion black ops is more of a “he who sees first kills first” whereas in Bad Company you could see an enemy miles away sometimes and not necessarily be able to hit him. I do not believe black ops has as high of a skill level as bad company because you must be very versatile you must be able to work tanks, helicopters, Uavs etc… while in black ops helicopters are used only as a kill streak reward and how well the chopper does is not based on your skill. Sniping is also a million times better in BC because there is a farther range whereas BO (initials almost fitting)has such a shrunken clustered map that it is incredibly hard if not impossible to snipe. Also in BC destruction 2.0 is a tactical element to get into buildings without using the front door. (who uses the front door in the middle of an assault? maybe BO should include doorbells as well) The reason i say it is a big tactical element is because when i see that a door is missing on a building i know someone is in there unless they decided to be a bit tricky and jump through the window. All in all apples to apples i do believe bad company is an extremely better made game for online play, but COD Black Ops has a more intense single player storyline ( i did like the story line for BC2 than 1 though)
