‘Battlefield 4′ Teasers Prepare You For War

Battlefield 4 Teasers

After official artwork for Battlefield 4 was teased by DICE, the company has now put out two separate teaser videos – ahead of the main reveal next week. With excitement and anticipation building up for Battlefield 4, despite limited information pouring out, it seems the time is almost right to open the proverbial floodgates.

The Swedish-based developer made the two videos only twenty-seconds in length, and offer a mere hint of action. Those waiting for a bigger video, though, haven’t long to wait – DICE is set to pull the curtains back with a full gameplay trailer on March 27th.

That date is two days into GDC 2013 – meaning press will get an early look at the product. But for now, gamers will have to make due with the two ‘Prepare 4 Battle’ teasers, and try and forget that play-on-words was attempted.

Without further ado, here’s the first two ‘Prepare 4 Battle’ teasers:

The game engine certainly looks great, and the notion that DICE revamped sea-based combat will have peaked curiosity from those interested in the oft-overlooked type of warfare. The game takes place in the modern timeline, which means there will be no shortage of high-tech weaponry and espionage tools for gamers to utilize during combat. Of course, we’re expecting the actual gameplay to contain about 100% less bokeh than the end of those trailers.

The series has always come highly regarded as an entertaining and team-oriented game, offering plenty of strategy to counter the usual madness of rival games like Call of Duty. With up to 64 players on consoles, Battlefield 4 will certainly be giving the Call of Duty world a run for their money. Until March 27th, however, we’ll have to wait to see what the combat actually looks like.

What do you think about the videos, Ranters?

Battlefield 4 is expected to hit shelves later this year for the PC, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, and Microsoft’s next-gen console (but maybe not the Wii U).

  1. Battlefield 1942, it was amazing.
Battlefield 2, the took away the naval war, it was okay, few things missing.
Battlefield Bad Company 1 and 2, Took away air war

    Battlehack 3. Great… more limitations.

Battlefield 4, it’ll be just like COD. Not looking forward to this. No Battlefield game will ever be as good as 1942.

    • Bad Company 1 & 2 where still fun though, both the campaign and MP.

Battlefield 3 was just Call of Duty with Destructable Objects.
Not only that, but all the annoying MW2 / Black Ops Kiddies jumped unto BF3 ruining its community.

      • BF3 was nothing like COD other than they were both modern shooters.

        • yeah, keep telling that yourself so you can distance yourself from CoD.

I agree that it has elements of it, more so than all previous Battlefield games like BF2, but the fact that it has vehicles pretty much changes all of that. The indoor infantry-only maps I do agree have a COD feel to them…

          • I’m not trying to distance myself from COD. I could careless about the whole FPS war of which is better. I have played both and when I play BF3 I don’t ever feel like I’m playing COD.

    • @Wally

Wait, how do you figure BF4 will be like COD? If anything, BF3 kind of went that route, BF4 seems to be adding back a lot of the features from BF2 that went missing in BF3 like Commander Mode for instance…

    • Battlefield 2142 had it ALL, except naval I guess.

      • It’s still my favorite Battlefield – so many memories of my old gaming clan days.

  2. @John Jacques

Hey, what do you mean by how good the game engine looks from those teasers? Did they state that those glimpses are from in-game resources?? If so, then hot-damn! But to me, they look like CG… So it’ll be good if those glimpses were rendered with the in-game engine…

    • I’m pretty sure BF4 will have the same graphics as BF3. Perhaps there will be better particle effects, maybe higher resolution textures. But I doubt they would have gone for a full upgrade on the graphics which I’m sure many people out there might be thinking.

No offense man, but it sounds like you’re simply assuming. And assuming something when we’re only days away from seeing gameplay footage is a pretty asinine endeavor… I’m not saying you’re right or wrong, but there really is absolutely no point in arbitrarily coming to a conclusion based on nothing at all…

  3. Battlefield 4.. didn’t I just get through paying for Battlefield 3′s DLCs? Pardon me while I wait for 2143.

  4. The sad thing about your case Malikos is that they still have to make BFBC3/Mirrors Edge 2 and probably after that they have to take break and EA has to focus on farting out another MOH series. So it looks like you might be playing BF3 for a very long time.

[off topic] Another sad thing is we wouldn’t even need BF4 if there was a capability of modding.

  5. Submarines?

  6. When Battlefield posted the first teaser on Vine, someone commented saying, “Mini-Sub” and battlefield replied to that comment saying, “We’ll See”, so my guess is that is exactly what it is, especially with the second teaser but im curious how they will implement Submarines into the Miltiplayer aspect effectively!
