Battlefield 2042 and previous installments in the series have always set themselves apart from other FPS games like Call of Duty by adding vehicular combat to the formula. Battlefield 2042 players have, however, recently found some balancing issues with anti-vehicle weapons in the game that is making it increasingly difficult to take down players in vehicles.

Battlefield 2042 has received mostly negative reviews since its November 19 release. The game has received 40 000 reviews on its Steam page so far with the vast majority of them citing a serious lack of weapons and features that were available in previous installments in the series. These issues will likely be fixed in updates over time as they have been in previous Battlefield games that launched poorly, however, players may instead move on to other recently released titles such as Halo Infinite if DICE does not act fast.

Unfortunately, Battlefield 2042 players have recently found another issue with the game relating to anti-vehicle weapons. One Reddit user recently found that it is currently significantly easier to destroy a tank with a sniper rifle than it is to use a rocket launcher. This seems to be quite a large oversight considering that the rocket launcher was made specifically to counteract the game's vehicles. The M5 recoilless rocket launcher currently takes 4 rockets to take down a tank whereas the NWT sniper also takes 4 shots but with a much quicker fire rate and reload time.

The strange behavior with sniper rifles isn't the only thing players have been running into during matches. Another issue players have run into is that melee executions in Battlefield 2042 don't always seem to work. This makes for rather awkward scenarios where players end up running up to kill opposing players and enter the animation only for the other player to survive unscathed.

DICE has even had to remove solo progression from Battlefield 2042 in order to stop players from making use of XP farming exploits. This will most likely cause some players to take a breather from the game until the issue is fixed so it would be in the best interests of DICE and EA to patch this issue sooner rather than later.

One Battlefield 2042 player was so bothered by the game's lack of features that they ended up making an extensive list detailing all of the missing features that appeared in previous games. Many long-time Battlefield players do not seem to be too happy with the game currently and it will therefore be up to DICE and EA to solve these problems before players start looking elsewhere to get their FPS fix.

Battlefield 2042 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
