In a post on its official blog, Telltale Games reveals the release date for its upcoming episodic series, Batman: The Telltale Series along with more details to come at Comic Con.

Even though Rocksteady's Batman: Return to Arkham collection was recently delayed out of its summer release window, Batman fans will still be getting their fix thanks to the episodic game developers, Telltale Games. While most details are still fuzzy regarding the game, gamers will be experiencing an all-new iteration of the iconic character and his origin story, that puts them in the shoes of Bruce Wayne just as much as the Dark Knight. After hints indicated that the new Batman game would launch sometime this summer, Telltale Games has finally confirmed when players can finally venture into Gotham City.

In a new post on the official Telltale Games blog, the release window for its next episodic game, Batman: The Telltale Series, has been significantly narrowed down to August. While the developer knows exactly when the title will be available for purchase, it has chosen to save the announcement for next week, when a world premier trailer is set to reveal the news.

Alternatively, fans will be able to pick up a physical copy of the game starting on September 13 in North America as a special season pass disc, which includes the first five episodes and grant access to the last four once they become available. European users will be able to snag the retail edition three days later on September 16.

Fans heading to San Diego Comic Con, which kicks off next week, will get the opportunity to see the first episode of the series premier on a big screen at a special crowd play event taking place on Saturday, July 23. Hosted by internet personality Greg Miller, the event will also have Troy Baker, who voices Bruce Wayne, and some of the Telltale team on hand to help the audience shout out and direct the choices on-screen.

It's been a short window between when the game was first announced at The Game Awards last December, and there's still a lot fans don't know about the upcoming and mysterious game. Last month, E3 provided a little more insight including the cast of characters and brand new screenshots which show off Bruce Wayne inside of Wayne Manor and Batman looking back on the Batmobile. Outside of those few nuggets of information however, little has been revealed regarding the overall plot for the episodic series.
