There's on thing you have to understand about Batman: the suit does, in this case, make the man. That's a fact that apparently hasn't been lost on the developers of Batman: Arkham Origins, as they seem to have every intention of providing extra DLC skins and alternate costumes that are just as impressive - even if they're not as numerous - as those featured in the previous games in the series.

Fans of Batman's roots in both the comic books and on television have something to look forward to in the PS3 exclusive Knightfall Pack, as it brings alternate skins of both the original Adam West costume and that of the "Knightfall" comic storyline - two outfits that send the criminals of Gotham two very, very different messages.

The Knightfall Pack doesn't just bring two new suits to the main campaign of Origins, but five additional Challenge maps: "Azrael Does Not Protect," "City on Fire," "Venom Connection," "Turning Point" and "No Rest For The Wicked." This early on it's hard to know what changes, if any, will be made to the standard formulas used for the Challenge sections of the game, but the costumes are going to be highly coveted by comic book fans when the game releases.

Have a look at the suits below:

These first DLC skins were shown off San Diego Comic-Con, once the developers at WB Montreal were through unveiling the brand new villain Copperhead, and hinting that co-op might be playing a role in the game. As interesting as these suits and brief glimpses of dynamic Challenge maps may be, it's a good bet that fans would most like to know if they'll still be a singleplayer experience.

Even so, if these alternate costumes have gotten you interested, you'll be happy to hear that they can't hold a candle to the 'Batman One Million' and Worst 'Nightmare' costumes. Although those have yet to be officially released, and where their exclusivity falls, it's a safe bet that these costumes will all be made available eventually. Whether Origins can measure up to Rocksteady's titles to still be in console trays when they are... remains to be seen.

What do you think of the exclusive costumes? Are you more interested in the new designs for classic villains than Batman's duds, or are you hoping to see a different costume adapted? Share your thoughts in the comments.
