This October, Bruce Wayne will don cape and cowl once again for yet another dose of Arkham-flavored fisticuffs. Announced in April, Batman: Arkham Origins will tell the tale of a much younger Dark Knight detective as he attempts to survive the night and take the fight to some of his earliest adversaries.

Developed by Warner Bros. Interactive, Origins is the first Arkham title not to be developed by series stalwarts Rocksteady Studios. One of the last triple-A titles to hit the current-gen of consoles, the game is also the first in its series to receive a multiplayer mode and, perhaps even region-specific collector's sets.

Unveiled on Wednesday, the Batman: Arkham Origins Collector's Edition will make its way to the sunny shores of the UK on October 25th (the same date as the game's North American release). Priced at £79.99 (around $125) the set features:

  • A special edition steel book carry case, emblazoned with Arkham Origin's winged Batman motif
  • An exclusive 12-inch statuette, featuring Batman & The Joker
  • An 80 page collector's art book
  • An assassin's contract dossier, containing info on all of the Black Mask's hired help.
  • 2 exclusive DLC packs — a vintage '1st Appearance' Batman skin & the 'Deathstroke Challenge Pack'

Given that Batman's prior Arkham outings both delivered identical collector sets across the Atlantic, there's no reason to believe that North American gamers are set to miss out here. It should be noted that the Collector's Edition's Amazon listing has subsequently been taken down, suggesting that the information involved was shared too soon, a fact that lends further support to the idea of the pack as a cross-territory incentive.

Interestingly, WhatCulture is reporting that the pack's US equivalent is slated to appear at some point in the following week. Will it really be offering something different — perhaps a variant statue or costume pack? Whatever the case, the set should cost somewhere in the region of $100, judging by the R.R.P of previous sets, though this edition's British price tag does appear to have risen over those of past installments.

So, are you excited for the crime-fighting debut of Batman: Arkham Origins? Who would you like to see make an appearance in the game? Should collector's sets vary by territory? Have your say in the comments below.

Batman: Arkham Origins will begin rounding up rogues on October 25th 2013, for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC & Wii U platforms. The game's Collector's Edition is currently exclusive to British retailer Amazon UK, (though a North American set is also expected) priced at around £79.99. PlayStation 3 owners will also receive the Arkham Origins in-game Knightfall pack with the set. The Collectors Edition is not slated appear on either PC or Wii U formats.
