Rocksteady and WB Games are nearing the release date of Batman: Arkham Knight, one of this year's most anticipated games. After a number of delays, the wait is finally almost over, as Batman: Arkham Knight will be available on June 23rd.

In anticipation of the game's release, a brand new (mostly) live action trailer has been released. The trailer is directed by the duo of Tim Cronenweth and Jeff Cronenweth, known for working on critically-acclaimed films such as Fight Club, Gone Girl, and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

This trailer is just the latest in a string of other trailers and videos, which are piling up in anticipation of the game's release. WB Games and Rocksteady know how to build hype, and the latest live action trailer does a decent job at it, though it does get a little cheesy at times.

The live action segments depict various people throughout Gotham overcoming their fears and fighting through pain in order to save or help others. It then cuts to some gameplay footage of Batman fighting, driving the Batmobile, and soaring through the skies, with quick glimpses of Catwoman and Scarecrow thrown in for good measure. All of this is accompanied by the song "The Wretched" by Nine Inch Nails.

This live action trailer is just the latest Arkham Knight teaser to come out recently. Previously, WB Games has released a trailer showing off Batman's comrades in the game, Catwoman, Nightwing, and Robin, as well as a gameplay trailer showing off the game's dual play mode.

Dual play is a brand new gameplay mechanic for the series, introduced in Arkham Knight. Taking cues that are reminiscent of the character-switching seen in Grand Theft Auto 5, this feature allows players to switch from Batman to another character with the press of a button. As previously stated, these characters will include Catwoman, Nightwing, and Robin, but it's unknown at this point if other characters will be playable as well.

Those that are impressed with this new trailer and are looking to purchase the game, there are a few different factors to take into account. The PS4 version seems to be the definitive version of the title, what with a Batman-branded PS4 console coming out, as well as the PS4 having timed-exclusive DLC. The DLC itself includes exclusive missions, new costumes for Batman, and a new skin for the Batmobile. We also know that Arkham Knight will run in 1080p on PS4, and there has been no confirmation as to how it will run on Xbox One as of yet.

Another thing to take into account is pre-ordering. Those that pre-order Arkham Knight will also receive exclusive DLC missions, this time in the form of prequel missions starring Harley Quinn. Not too shabby at all.

Batman: Arkham Knight will be available on June 23rd for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
