Batman Arkham City Robin Trailer Coming

As if fans needed any more reasons to look forward to the release of Batman: Arkham City, it seems that there are still a few important characters yet to take the spotlight before the game hits shelves. While mystery and rumors still surround the various villains and playable fighters of Arkham City, we now have confirmation that while the developers at Rocksteady won't be unveiling any more characters before the game's launch, a trailer featuring the new and improved Robin is 'imminent.'

If the last Joker trailer is any indication of the kind of intense drama and moodiness that Arkham City will be bringing, then how that applies to the newly-reimagined Robin is something we can't wait to see. Whether a trailer will be able to match the inherent awesomeness of the current gallery of Robin costumes remains to be seen, but we'll give Rocksteady the benefit of the doubt.

Sadly, the announcement on Arkham City's community forums confirming that a Robin trailer is "imminent" also states that no more characters will be revealed before the game's launch. The confirmation comes courtesy of Sarah Wellock, Rocksteady's Community Manager, and is sure to disappoint those fans who had yet to see their favorite villain revealed. It seems that we'll have to be satisfied with the current rogues gallery, most recently counting Deadshot among its ranks.

It goes without saying that the Robin trailer will be incredibly anticipated, since it will be the first and possibly the only look we have of Robin's new combat moves. It will also provide the first impression of what kind of personality voice actor Mark Ashton will be forming for this re-imagined Tim Drake, which could be a make-or-break issue for some rabid fans. The newly 'dudebro-ed' portrayal of Tim Drake drew the ire of some who preferred a more faithful adaptation, but Rocksteady had their reasons.

Whether Ashton's voice performance follows the gruff and gritty appearance of Drake, or he brings something unexpected to the table, it will be interesting to see how fans react. Especially since Rocksteady is claiming that players will like Robin more than Batman.

What do you hope to see in the upcoming trailer? If you had your choice, would you rather see Robin's martial arts, or one focused more on his back story? Leave us your thoughts in the comments.

Batman: Arkham City will launch on Xbox 360 and PS3 on October 18. A PC release has been delayed into November. Whenever the Robin trailer is released, we'll bring it to you.
