Unlike previous versions of the Discovery Tour series, Discovery Tour: Viking Age replaces guided tours with quests that offer players rewards. How to get the Bedale-Gilling Mythical Short Sword
The Bedale-Gilling Mythical Short Sword is one of the many rewards players get for completing quests in Discovery Tour: Viking Age. Players of this mode are going to have to complete each and every quest in order to earn this weapon in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. There are eight separate quests that players have to complete before the game will give out this interesting weapon.
These quests primarily revolve around two main characters, Thorsteinn and Brother Ealric, as they make their way through their lives. The former, lives as a Viking in Norway and the latter is a monk in Anglo-Saxon England. In general each quest requires players to complete simple tasks and move about the world in order to be completed. As usual with Discovery Tour gameplay, there is no combat that players need to prepare for nor any complicated puzzles to unravel.
What are the quests in Discovery Tour: Viking Age?
Oaths and Honour
Players enter the newly added Discovery Tour to Assassin's Creed Valhalla taking on this first quest. Players need to clear the name of Thorsteinn and ensure that he can join his fellow Vikings on upcoming raids once they pick up this quest. For this portion of Discovery Tour: Viking Age, players need to investigate claims and a crime scene that eventually culminates in an engaging Flyting competition.
Through Faith and Fire
The second quest in Discovery Tour: Viking Age gives players control of the next major character, Brother Ealric. This quest asks players to track down a number of different ingredients around the monastery and answer timed questions based on the knowledge they gain.
Seaworthy
The Seaworthy quest brings players back to Norway and in control of Thorsteinn once more. This quest asks players to take on a supply-gathering series of missions in preparation for heading out to the west. Dotted around this area, as well as Anglo-Saxon England, are different points that players can activate to learn about the history of the setting. These are optional for the quests but are a large part of the update that added this Discovery Tour.
Into the West
The fourth quest continues Thorsteinn's journey towards Anglo-Saxon England. Players have to manage similar gathering quests, delicate conversations, as well as river navigation in this piece of Discovery Tour: Viking Age.
A Barter for Peace
Moving back to Brother Ealric's arc, players of this quest must find the right balance between warring powers in Anglo-Saxon England. This quest line involves careful conversations and walking and is fortunately without any major decisions.

Aelfred's Legacy
This is the first quest line that offers the third major character in Discovery Tour: Viking Age's quests: King Aelfred. As the King, players have to once more navigate complex conversations and work towards uniting the Ango-Saxons Kingdoms.
New Life, New Lands
Once more taking on the role of Thorsteinn, players have to help arrange a wedding for a friend. This means talking with some of the game mode's NPCs and working through a variety of cutscenes.
Where Fates Align
The final quest players need to be complete in order to earn themselves the Bedale-Gilling Mythical Short Sword takes place in a mythical land in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Players need to assist Thor in gathering materials in order to unravel the mystery of behind this quest. Without getting into major spoilers, this quest is similar to all the previous ones and just requires small decisions and short travels.
