Assassins Creed Revelations Spoilers

While our readers are already chatting away  in the comments section of our Assassin’s Creed: Revelations review - where you can leave spoiler-free comments, this is the place to openly discuss the game without worrying about ruining the story and surprises for everyone else.

With characters from every previous game in the series being given ample screen time, there’s no shortage of insight into the trauma suffered by Altair, the final mission by Ezio Auditore, and exactly what message and instructions have been given to Desmond by “those who came before.”

Safely assume that anyone who is reading this has completed Revelations, so speak freely – but, if you haven’t finished the game, I would recommend you don’t read these comments here until you have.

  1. Where to start… That final cinematic was fricking awesome!!

But, did anyone else notice how strikingly similar Clay (that’s Subject 16′s real name, for those who haven’t got the encyclopaedia) and Darim look, I think it’s a safe bet they’re related to one another.

    • YES!!! I’m so glad someone else saw that, had to be the same actor since the resemblance was waaaay too similar. I really hope that’s a story point and not just a case of a shortage of actors lol.

And yes, the final cinematic was ridiculous, was NOT expecting Ubisoft to just pull back the curtain and actually show the civilization that came before. And was that girl with the baby EVE from AC2′s hidden video?

I’m still reeling from Desmond being woken up by his Dad!

  2. The last moments of Altair, and Ezio’s message to Desmond left me speechless. I felt like crying, knowing that Ezio’s epic journey is over. It felt like a part of me had died, and it was a very emotional moment. Bravo to the script writers at Ubi, for making such an epic tale, with characters so real and amazingly developed, that they feel like family.

    • Agreed, that last monologue by Ezio was extremely well-written, and a nice send-off for both he and Altair. Then when he turned to Desmond, my mind was completely blown.

Just having Ezio realize that like he is able to relive Altair’s life, someone could be reliving his: that’s what gets me excited for seeing these brought to the big screen. Definitely breaks the fourth wall in a special way.

  3. I find it very sad that Ezio’s story is done I liked him much more than Altair. Yeah he was part in 3 games and Altair only got 1 but I loved Ezio from the very begining. Also I really wished for a bit more information about Sofia and Ezio and what happened with them. Besides that I wonder how they figured out where to go because when they open the doors of that Van they’re at the place where Desmond is supposed to go, or at least it seemed that way for me. Maybe Desmond’s father has something to do with that? Anyways the ending was just amazing like every other ending of the series… can’t wait for the next game.

    • If you preordered the game at gamestop you would get a short film called Assassin’s Creed: Embers which actually shows what happened to them. Pretty much chronicles the end of ezio’s life.

  4. Although the last game is called revelation, it raises more questions than it reveals.
It does not answer all my questions after the previous games.
Is Lucy still alive or really dead?
If dead why did she had to die?
Is subject 16 also awakened from his coma like desmond?
On the “puzzle”map on the wall in AC1 one could see 4 apples in 4 corners of the world, all the Ezio parts only tells about 1, what’s with the other 3?
Desmond ends with the phrase Now I know where I have to go, I suppose he means that he has to go to the apple that Altair and Ezio left behind?
In the end “movie” they tell about cellars they had build to hide for the appocalips, and they told about 10.000 survivors but did not explain that thes two are related so why this comment?

In short the revelation for me was that I now am confused even more.
Does anyone know where I can find more explenation of the complete storyline until now.

    • Alright, here’s my take on the questions you have:

Lucy is likely injured, but whether or not she’s alive or dead is something that we’ll have to wait to see. If Desmond’s father is back in the picture for the next game, then her being in a coma or similar and Desmond having to explain to his dad about their relationship could be interesting.

Subject 16 is long dead, at least that was my understanding. He fell victim to the bleeding effect and escaped into the Animus itself (or his consciousness did). That’s why he was leaving Desmond all those clues in the past games. He said before he disappeared that the time had come for “deletion,” so I think his purpose had been served, and he was now finally dying.

4 Apples, yes, if not more. We’re only following the one the Templars knew about, the others may be for the future series.

Desmond said “I know where we have to go” because the gods showed him the vault, then lifted up from it to the surface of the Earth, then showed the lush green field where the van was arriving. The vault is what they need to find, more than the apple.

      • For my understanding, Lucy is dead. You can hear Shawn and Rebecca talking when you are in Animus Island after each sequence. Between sequence 1 and 2 you can hear Shawn mention that “they buried her”, by “her” I think he is talking about Lucy.

        This is just me speculating.

  5. The ending to this game was cool but i couldnt get over how i was pissed that it was so short. There were alot of things in this game that were introduced but went by too fast (the hidden city) Cant wait for the next one tho. Hopefully they do make it over in china

    • Yeah the hidden city was definitely shorter than I thought it would be, probably the shortest ‘Sequence’ in the series to date. I was interested in pushing through to continue the story so I may not even know how much there was to find in the city. I’m just glad I got the Animus fragments before i left. And the smoke effects when escaping were AWESOME.

  6. just beat it. So what happened to Ezio? Did he make it out of there and eventually hide the apple where Desmond found it (I’m a bit fuzzy with that part)

    • There is more than 1 apple, he leaves it there along with his hidden blades and assassins sword. He pretty much retires as an assassin

      • Yeah, gives up his responsibility as the personal guardian of the apple. I liked that touch, that he was finally able to choose to live his life for himself. And realizing that someone could live his memories like he could live Altair’s was very cool.

I’m guessing either the Tempalrs are after another apple, they found that one, or Desmond will need to go to Masyaf today and find it.

  7. anyone else notice that the last 2 portals (the broken ones) on animus island are repaired after beating the game? kinda aggravates me that they got fixed for what seems like….NO reason.

    • probably for future dlc

    • Whoa no I never did. But I was too focused on finding the fragments to look past the one I was going to next. There’s still one out there! I have no idea which one cuz I wasnt keeping track of locations as I got them!!!

  8. I’m infuriated with how this ended. There better be a another game after this one…I’m so pissed right now. This game was good..but ubisoft sure knows how to grind my couple gears with the way they end their games…there better be a sequel to revelations..or ima bust a nut. And assassinate UBISOFT

    • Assassins Creed is a trilogy as in Assassins Creed I, II, III revelations and brotherhood where just continuations on Ezio

  9. To me, personally, I found the Altiar sequences awesome(especially when he’s so old he can’t even run, and he still manages to basically single-handedly take back control of the Order through his sheer awesomeness), but I also felt kind of cheated by the actual story they showed. About three of the sequences were basically covered in the books, so I already knew what was going to happen, in terms of story(I might be wrong here, so don’t quote me on this).

Who else just went into rage-mode when you found Yusuf dead? He was, hands down, the best new character in the game. He was also a refreshing change of pace, in that he was actually genuinely light-hearted, but could switch to a serious kill-tastic butt-kicker at the drop of hat. His joking about the bomb making delicacy and pronouncing the rest of Ezio’s name had me laughing out loud. I loved the guy.

I have to say, I loved the feeling of the ending compared to Brotherhood. Brotherhood was cool, but it was more “what in the-? how can they possibly resolve all this?” Revelations was pure “Aw, yeah. This is gonna be good.”

Also, I can’t not say this: as good a sub-plot as it was, I was kind off-put by Ezio’s pursuit of Sofia. Don’t get me wrong, any member of either sex can chase after anyone that’s over the age of consent, and the way the relationship between them developed was deftly handled and fun to watch, but the fact that Ezio basically turned into a male cougar still strikes the weirdness chord with me. Granted, the beard probably added about two decades to his appearance, so maybe he’s not that much older.

    • He was in his 60′s

    • @Slyko: as much as I want to see Ezio as a cougar, he was in his 50s for Revelations, and I would put Sofia around 30-ish. Not that weird for back then.

@ijs1337 I agree with just about everything you said. The ending was wicked, and Altair made the player feel powerful without even having to fight. That is special.

I also completely lost it when I found Yusuf. Especially after he promised to protect Sofia, and took out like a dozen guards trying to save her.

  10. Same here, saw red when i found Yusuf sourounded by dead soldiers. All i could think was i’m going to kill that bastard! Hell hath no fury like a horde of assassins. The part where they’re all streaming across the docks is awesome.
    Ezio is not a cougar!
