Assassins Creed Revelations Spoilers

Back in 2007, when the first Assassin's Creed title launched, the future of the series was somewhat unclear. Despite a lot of praise for the game world, the first installment in the series was more of a proof-of-concept than a competent title with solid combat mechanics and an intriguing protagonist. However, thanks to some sharp design refinements and risky story choices, the series has grown to become one of the most popular franchises in the games industry.

Assassin's Creed Revelations brings the series (and story) full circle by connecting the dots between original, as well as silent, assassin/protagonist, Altair and fan-favorite, Ezio, who has been the focus of the three most recent game titles. With such a rich story to tell, it should come as no surprise that Ubisoft is delivering some intriguing (and spoilerific) achievements and trophies this round.

A number of the achievements/trophies will be somewhat familiar to gamers who have played prior installments in the series - with rewards for basic gameplay actions (such as "Lightning Strikes" - which requires players to "Kill 5 guards in 5 seconds using only your hidden blades") as well as various multiplayer endeavors. Obviously, considering the rich Assassin's Creed narrative (with all of its bizarre twists and turns), there's bound to be some spoilers in the achievements/trophy list - so particularly sensitive players (or those who want to go into the experience with a blank slate) should avert their eyes before reading on.

There are definitely a number of especially intriguing entries on the list (such as "The Early Years" - which asks players to "Complete Desmond Sequence 1") which indicates a heavy focus on over-arching protagonist Desmond Miles this round. Others (such as "Show-Off" - "Parachute onto a zipline") showcase how incredibly robust the series has become - not only offering players a variety of approaches to succeeding in assassinations but also giving them plenty of room to enjoy a variety of game modes and side missions.

In addition, we've got an added bit of good news for any PS3 players who are still on the fence about the title - Assassin's Creed: Revelations will support 3D on Sony's machine. While many video game lovers may be skeptical about the forced implementation of the format into many high-profile titles these days, it's easy to admit that seeing the expanse of Renaissance Italy in full 3D could be an especially cool experience.
