‘Assassin’s Creed 4′ Event Scheduled for Feb 27th

Assassins Creed 4 Event on February 27

As one of the many constants in the world of video games, fans can count on the release of a new Assassin’s Creed every fall. Part of that release schedule, however, also includes a big reveal, wherein developer Ubisoft announces an official title, gives some sense of the story, and in the case of a few AC games reveals a new protagonist and setting.

While we still don’t have official confirmation from Ubisoft, an invite that has gone out to select members of the press suggests an Assassin’s Creed announcement will take at the end of this month, on February 27th. No mention of what might be announced — whether this is Assassin’s Creed 4 — just that the event involves Assassin’s Creed.

We were made privy to the event thanks to MCV, who posted a message to their Twitter revealing the date of the event. They are as “in the dark” as we are, but we shouldn’t be for long.

Gamers will remember that it was around this time last year, that Ubisoft unveiled Assassin’s Creed 3. Sure, most of their big revelations — namely the Colonial America setting and Native American protagonist — had been spoiled, but there was still something awe inspiring about that first trailer.

So far, Ubisoft has been able to keep this new game under wraps, but there’s still plenty of time for the beans to be spilt. There’s also a small little PS4 event taking place tomorrow, which could open the door for Ubisoft to announce Assassin’s Creed is heading to next-gen platforms.

As far as Assassin’s Creed 4 is concerned, we expect that Ubisoft will reveal a new protagonist and a new setting, or at least that’s what Yves Guillemot has led us to believe. Connor is done, and now it’s time for a new character to takeover in this pivotal moment in the franchise.

Stick tuned for more details about the Assassin’s Creed event, and make sure to check back here on February 27th to read what exactly Ubisoft revealed.

What do you hope Ubisoft announces at the end of this month? Where would you like to see the Assassin’s Creed franchise head next?

  1. female ninja … or female assassin (but tocks)

  2. Please, Ubi. Pleasssseeee…. Feudal Japan as location! It would be perfect!

    • It would be, they need to add martial arts then.

  3. I would definitely be all about Feudal Japan. I have really been hoping the series would go there. I wouldn’t mind a character customization either, a chance to choose if the protagonist is male or female.

My only question is, who would we be playing as outside of the Animus? What is the new storyline?

    • I’ve bought every Assassin’s Creed game to date, and I won’t be buying another game until someone explains to me either:

A.) That Desmond survived and there’s an even bigger plot being formulated here.

      or

B.) That Desmond truly is dead and Ubisoft is sorry, oh so sorry, that they made such a $%#@ ending to a $300 story.

      • I’m glad desmond died because he wasnt much of a character and was in fivw whole @#$%ing games. It was about time for a new character.

    • they should focus on just assassin storys from now on no modern time crap

  4. Looks a lot like Egyptian Paper the logo is on.

  5. Ubisoft i think it would be a good idea to take the next assassin creed to the civil war and have the new assassin fight alongside or even against Abraham lincoln and he has to choose his side and officially describe what happened to desmond and let desmond test out his new skills on some templars

  6. I Think a Egyptian would be perfect or even the days after noaH OR BEFORE or maby a GERMAN OR MABY a game only about desmond miles that he has to escape from abstergo an stop the bearded templar from using the APPLE TO alter time .desmond should be able to play in an open world of ny or where ever he was and that god is really real but the templars is using christianity as a cover and forget about juno and the 2 other homos. And maby the player should have the choice of picking the assassins or templars with different endings but not make the story short and the world should be ending as the main purpose

    • “juno and the other two homos”
the new name for my band.

  7. Ubisoft specifically said they won’t do Japan, Egypt, or World War II because they are unoriginal. For me I’d rather see Imperial China as the setting. :)

    • Rvie, no they didn’t, Corey May said in a podcast last year that he has already formulated in his mind how to take the series to Japan. Also, Ancient Egypt may be overdone but there are thousands of years of Egyptian history other than the Ancient Egyptians and how much could you tell me about the history of Ancient Egypt anyway?

    • Imperial China? Cool.

  8. Some movie announcement pl0x

    Do want imperial china setting!

  9. I want either

    A) France
    B) Imperial China
    C) Fuedal Japan
    D) Or a pirate type assassin (maybe the French soldiers kidnapped the protagonists family and put them into slavery)
    E) or even an assassins creed take on the character spartacus as the protagonist

  10. What if they took it back to the very beginning of the brotherhood .Maybe to explain more on why, maybe key moments of the brotherhood .

  11. What about a Gothic Victorian Era :)

  12. Japan would be tedious. Same goes for the Brazil rumours. I’m just not interested in these countries.

As long as it’s on my PS THREE I’ll be happy though. Very interested to see where they take Juno’s story from here…

  13. Desmond dies?! i havent played 3 yet. Way to spoil it. God dam. MA MEATLOAF!, NOW!

  14. Hey, Also I was just doing some deep underground research and I’ve uncovered what the announcement is, its very obvious to me now that we’re in the mist of Assasins Creed: Karting Madness!

  15. Personally I’d like to see a game set in the French Revolution or maybe even Russia. They can get back to the structures and tall buildings as well as the free running from AC 2. With a different language and an interesting setting. I for one despise the idea of futile Japan or Egypt due to the openness of both countries and not so many tall structures unless you go to the major cictes. I’d love to see French Revolution since it is right after the American revolution and not to far in the future to get rid of the feel to assassins. And they won’t go back since then they’ll have to redo some mechanics I’d think.

  16. I would like to see an Assassin´s Creed on Egyptian or Mayan pyramids.
