Nobody is going to accuse Ubisoft of shying away from violence. Assassins make ending lives their greatest skill, and Connor Kenway is no exception. The new hero being introduced with Assassin's Creed 3 is as effective with a blade as any of his predecessors, and the latest trailer shows how many options will be available to players.

Tomahawks, muskets, pistols, Hidden Blades, battle axes - it seems there's nothing Connor can't use to take out his enemies. Told from the perspective of the British/Templar forces, the new AC3 weapons trailer shows how an Assassin can become the embodiment of fear in any era, or country.

The developers have explained that even in as prestigious company as Ezio and Altair, Connor gives brutality new meaning. He's not just the strongest of the Assassins we've seen. but looks to be far more experienced and versatile when it comes to the art of killing. The developers have given more than a few looks at the new animations and fluid fighting style that Connor will be utilizing to take on firearms, and some of the most formally trained military forces players have encountered.

Connor's combat skills and aptitude in any encounter means he actually seems built to provide the kinds of gameplay that players have always hoped to experience. From stealth to swords, Connor can do it all. That sounds like a real Assassin to us.

But before Ubisoft gives the impression that violence and warfare will be more important the history, and the battle between Templars and Assassins, they've reminded their fans that the American Revolution won't be overlooked. A new online game has been launched via their official site, challenging fans to work together in unfolding the mystery of the Templar influence on American independence.

The game tasks players with detecting anomalies in a series of period paintings (to start), with more unlocking as enough of the community takes part. The historical fiction that Ubisoft's writers will weave against the backdrop of New York and Boston has yet to truly be outlined.

Hopefully the game will provide a few interesting tidbits, and if not, it should at least let fans to delve into the types of puzzles and mini-games they can hope to enjoy in the game itself. Assassin's Creed 3 will hopefully be answering more than a few questions, so the developers might as well start now.

Which of the weapons at Connor's disposal are you most looking forward to? Stick with what works and rely on the Hidden Blade, or embrace Connor's half-Mohawk side and utlizie the tomahawk and bow?
