While this year’s Assassin’s Creed 3 has some particularly North American inclinations, its appeal is sure to be mass market. With a new protagonist, the aforementioned new setting, and a drastic overhaul for combat and movement mechanics, this Assassin’s Creed adventure is set to be the one that reels back in the wayward fans.
Unfortunately some of those fans, namely those who choose to do their gaming on the PC – an extremely viable, if not better, option in this protracted console cycle – might be forced to wait a little longer. Now this is just a rumor, but according to a source for Eurogamer, Assassin’s Creed 3 on the PC has been delayed until November.
The real smoking gun for this delay comes by way of box art for Assassin’s Creed 3 in the Czech Republic. Included on the cover is the game’s original release date, but below that is a qualification saying that the PC version is releasing on November 23rd – nearly a full month after the console release date (not counting the Wii U version).
This could be a PC delay across all countries, or it could just be for select European countries, but given the nature of the PC version’s lack of coverage it’s impossible to know.
PC players of Assassin’s Creed 3 are no strangers to delays, if you’ll remember Assassin’s Creed Revelations for the PC received a similar half-month delay, but this one was assumed to be a concurrent release. The last we heard about Assassin’s Creed 3 was in relation to its development favoring a controller over a keyboard, a decision that ruffled a few PC faithfull’s feathers.
We’re still awaiting confirmation from Ubisoft regarding this Assassin’s Creed 3 delay, but their response to questions regarding this rumor has been that they have yet to announce a PC release date. It may not be an outright omission, but it feels pretty likely that Assassin’s Creed 3 won’t be releasing for the PC on time.
Any gamers out there who were planning on picking up Assassin’s Creed 3 day one for the PC? Does Ubisoft tend to prioritize console releases over PC releases?
Assassin’s Creed 3 releases (definitely) for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 30, 2012.

ubisoft always make PC gamer like priority number two after the console, why why why why, please don’t be delay AC III for PC
This is somewhat par for the course with the AC games, usually we have to wait a number of months before it comes out on PC (previous Brotherhood was released for consoles in November, released for PC the following March).
At least this is only a months difference, but I’ll likely just buy it on X-box if they’re going to be like this.
Was always planning on getting the PS3 version anyway…
Ubisoft ports are crap on PC, therefore I pre-ordered the PS3 version…but honestly, I just hope they don’t delay it for almost a year like they did with Brotherhood. :S
