The latest Apex Legends character, Seer, has been revealed in his own Stories from the Outlands trailer. Seer, whose real name is Obi, was apparently cursed due to a bad omen that occurred during his birth.

After a relatively dry period for new Apex Legends content, the last few weeks have been filled with events, including the Thrillseekers Arenas event which is currently active. Now teasers for Season 10, including hints towards Seer and map changes are appearing in matches, and players should expect more to come until Season 10 launches on August 3.

At the moment, almost nothing official is known about Seer’s abilities and how he will play in-game. The only details about him are that he has microdrones and uses his “artist's eye” to spot opportunities that "other Legends might miss, and seizes them in the most beautiful way he can." The “Metamorphosis” trailer shared much more about the new Legend’s backstory and it appears that the moth-like microdrones are from his father, and his artistic flair is from his mother.

The trailer also shows Seer’s mother, who has a moth marking, giving birth as an asteroid strikes the moon. Soon after, the baby Seer is said to be cursed and is revealed to have glowing eyes and a gaze that can cause people to be undone. Over the last few days, a three-part lore series has been released on the Apex Legends social media accounts that tells the story of a blind princess that swears a blood oath to a cursed moth that is drawn to everything that causes it harm. In the series, the princess accepts help from the moth on the condition that it is reborn as her first child to be freed of the curse, clearly alluding that Seer is in someway related to this blind princess.

Season 10, known as Emergence, will also bring an updated version of World’s Edge, the new Rampage LMG weapon which was designed by Rampart, and the arrival of Ranked Arenas. While there are currently no details on the changes World’s Edge will receive, they are described as “major” and will likely be shown off at EA Play 2021 on July 22. Leaks from April of this year also indicated that a new light ammo LMG would be coming in a future season, however the Rampage is described as having a “surprising source of firepower”, which could mean it ends up as a new supply drop weapon.

Seer’s reveal trailer and previous teasers have been particularly cryptic in comparison to the extended trailer for Valkyrie from before Season 9 began. Nothing specific is known about Seer’s kit aside from the fact it involves microdrones and players may not see any detailed information about him until after EA Play 2021. Regardless, Apex Legends players should make sure they tune into EA Play 2021 on July 22 to learn more about the broader changes coming with Season 10.
