BioWare's ready to talk about Anthem's next update, it seems. BioWare community lead Andrew Johnson took to social media Monday morning to confirm that prior to tomorrow's official Anthem livestream, the game will receive an update which includes the previously teased new Stronghold. Anthem players can expect the update, as well as patch notes, following scheduled downtime between 5:00 am and 10:00 am Pacific Time.

According to Johnson's statement, the Anthem 1.1.0 update will not only feature the previously announced new Stronghold, The Sunken, but also "various other game improvements and fixes." Details regarding the improvements and fixes are as-yet unavailable, but are confirmed to be released alongside the patch. Players won't have to wait for the livestream for all of the update details, though BioWare will likely be answering questions about unclear aspects of the patch on the stream.

Also confirmed by Johnson is that BioWare will be providing an update on Anthem's current 90-day calendar. Given that there's only just more than a week left and BioWare hasn't talked publicly about several features planned for release in April, many players expect the 90-day calendar "update" to be about delays. Those April features detailed in the 90-day calendar included: Guilds, Leaderboards, and the highly anticipated "Expanded Progression" Mastery System.

Perhaps most worrying is BioWare's lack of communication regarding Anthem's most exciting event in its 90-day roadmap, the Cataclysm. The Cataclysm has been intended to cap off Anthem's first post-launch Act, though exactly what is to be included isn't clear. Whether it's story-based content, new dynamic world events, or otherwise, players have been looking forward to it since Anthem's launch. But it may now slip from May.

Today's understated update from BioWare comes as somewhat of a surprise. Ever since news regarding the state of BioWare and its development practices during the creation of Anthem, BioWare's typically active and transparent community efforts have been silent. On one hand, it's absolutely understandable, as no employee should have to deal with being public-facing while there's so much toxicity online, but for Anthem players excited for the game's future, the silence has been overly harsh.

Tomorrow will hopefully mark a shift back towards the more communicative and transparent BioWare from recent memory. Starting with Anthem 1.10's patch notes and followed by tomorrow's BioWare livestream, which airs at 1:00 pm PT, the next chapter of BioWare's near future will be detailed.

Anthem is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
