Hello, i play Aliens Vs Predator on PS3 system and i got to say that theres no dedicated servers, they are the public ones.. well i'm from argentina and the connection sucks.. im very dissapointed about this game connection because im a huge fan of this game i love the movies.. but the game connection actually sucks it's very laggy, in ranked match you are very lucky if you join a game that has more than 6 players in game. and actually it takes several minutes to join a game just for play a few minutes. Example= Infestation, you search for this game mode and you find a game that only has 4 players and the games finishes at 3 or 4 minutes max. i mean you spend more time searching for a game then playing one. I thought that Aliens Vs Predator would had a dedicated servers connection, that's the perfect connection, at least for users from south america or europe or countries far away from the host location which causes a very bad connection for us.. the delay it's just an homicide.. please i hope they fix this problem with a new upcoming patch or just change the connection to dedicated servers, that may help a lot. Thank you for reading.

Im hope hope hoping this will be good. I just think their walking a very thin line because balancing the 3 classes is VITAL for multiplayer and if they succeed than you get great satisfaction from it but if they fail then you got a dude running around as a predator spamming his shoulder cannon and murking everyone. I know balance is extremely important for the developers so im sure their hard at work on that and I all but hope that the final product will be nothing short of stellar.
  • As someone who's always had a somewhat unstable internet connection, dedicated servers is great news for me, and the only reason I'd want to play on PC.

Hopefully they keep their word on the servers... I'm getting this for both ps3 and pc, i think i have too many friends (have to dude-dudette-vorce some of them to be able to keep up with solo gameplay).

I foresee awesomeness in the future of this game. So many game types are possible and would hook everyone in.

Looks like they've got a horde mode, and an infected mode planned. They could definitely put together a couple more.

Even if the graphics aren't perfect this will please my eye.
  • I think it's cool they aren't going the cheap route, and are going to try and make it so folks are on an equal footing. Not all paying for the guy with a crap connection.

i always figured they would have dedicated servers for pc,but im buying it for 360(my pc wont fit the requirements)

Hm, that's odd... my first written comment didn't appear...

Anywho, dedicated servers provide a sense of dedication (har har) that playing against constantly-changing random opponents, or your occasional (singular) buddy who happened to be able to play with you at 3:00AM.

I don't have a terribly great connection, so dedicated servers provided me the ability to hand-pick servers with <100 pings, and play with familiar players often, with the occasional newcomer here and there to keep things interesting.

Setting up parties and friend-lists (comprised of people who may not necessarily be your friend) is rather irritating and unnecessary. Having the *OPTION* to play "Auto-match" or dedicated servers would have been decent.

So, I was already anticipating this game, but now I'm anticipating it even more.

I don't have a terribly great connection, and the ability to choose my own <100ms servers was spectacular before COD6 showed up.

There's also a sense of dedication (har har) that comes from playing with other fellow members of a dedicated server, with the occasional newcomer to keep things interesting.

Setting up party's and friend lists for people who aren't particularly your friend or your family but have a similar connection is rather annoying.

So yeah, I was already anticipating this game, but now it's just awesome-er.

I don't really give a crap about the dedicated servers nonsense. I have a pretty kick-ass Internet connection Even wireless. But that game looks friggin awesome. I can't wait.
