The Xbox 360 version of the highly praised, physics-based platformer, Trine, probably won’t be seeing the light of day. The news comes straight from developer, Frozenbyte’s official forums.
Trine dev, Joel Kinnunen wrote:
“It’s out of our hands but most likely will not happen. Sorry. (We probably won’t comment on this any further.)”
Trine was well-received by critics when it was released for PC and PS3, who praised its inventive mix of puzzles, platforming and action. The 360 version was expected to be available for download sometime last year, but news of it’s development gradually became non-existent.
I’ll have to admit I am slightly saddened by this news, as I was holding out for the XBLA version of Trine. I guess it gives me a reason to finally upgrade my PC and download a copy from Steam. Every cloud, huh?
Were you waiting for the Xbox 360 version of Trine? Or have you already played it on PC or PS3? If so, what did you think?
Trine is currently available for download on the PC and PlayStation Network.

Too bad for owners of the Box…. Trine is a really charming game!
Trine is half price this week on PSN, it's a really good game, and as far as I know is the first PS3 fake exclusive (meaning that it's also on PC)
it's a good game, 3 player co-op on the PSN version has a lot of glitches though
what about Little big planet? you can get that on the psp..doesn't that mean it's a “fake” ps3 exclusive? or doesnt it count when games are shared across sony platforms? i mean it's not like the pc is a microsoft platform or anything right?
but the little big planet PSP version is a completely different game than the PS3 version with different levels and different story and campaign, same goes for motorstorm and god of war
so now Trine is as much of a PS3 exclusive as mass effect 2 is a 360 exclusive, I can play them both on my Sony Vaio laptop
a fake exclusive is when the game is available on more than one platform and yet some people and sites insist on calling it exclusive, it never happened before this generation
but it has to be the same game, like Trine on PS3 and PC, like The Agency on PS3 and PC, like DC online on PS3 and PC, and of course like left 4 dead, splinter cell and mass effect
a real exclusive (or just exclusive) is when is game is available on only one platform
bummer! i was looking forward to this when TRS reviewed it. Plus steam doesn't work on Macs…. bah!
wow, i actually thought this came out for 360 first, then Ps3… must have mixed this game up braid or something :/
Agreed, especially in the final level. It's impossible to play it 3-player.
We met a lot of glitches playing through it on the PS3.
