10 Put Together A Team Identity
Whether it's selecting players for an Ultimate Team or picking the ideal situation in Career mode, team identity is more important than the overall rating of the team when it comes to finding a fit. The drills offer raw experience in career mode, so it's a no-brainer to play them. Every player should be familiar with each drill because the situations they prepare for come up in almost every game. Knowing all the little things adds up to big goals.
7 Focus On Skill Trees
Focusing on a single skill tree for a player can be faulted for making the player imbalanced. This is true, but there is nothing wrong with having strengths and weaknesses. Well-rounded players are mediocre and mediocre players don't scare anybody.
By going all-in on passing for one player, turnovers are reduced and scorers are set up better. Pure scorers will get ideal opportunities to hit the goal. And defenders with all tackling will generate key turnovers.
6 Bank On Speed
The other skills were covered in the last section, but there is one particular skill that no players can completely neglect. Being a step slow to the ball for an entire game is a miserable experience that should be rectified as soon as possible.
Tall players have their place (see the next section) so it's not that everybody needs to be a short little guy with a 99 speed rating. But no matter what position and size, speed acts as a delightful assistant to any other skill the player is trying to feature.

Corner kicks secretly provide an excellent opportunity for players to score for those who know how to take advantage. There is a way to turn this play that tends to result in an empty possession or a turnover into likely points.
Kicking to tall players with lots of vertical leaping ability is the right move here. Aside from the keeper, nobody can block this shot. Tack on a little bit of strength to keep in position and players can essentially score at will. Just be sure to keep those kicks nice and lofty.
4 Play Conservatively With The Lead
Unless players have drastically adjusted the default settings, games are not long. Passing back and forth might not be thrilling, but there is a good reason this strategy works in football. The strategy works just as well in the video game version.
Scoring is fun and all, but winning is better. And conservative players open themselves up for some easy scores when the losing team picks up on this strategy and has to play aggressively. Pass to the open man and get some quick offense!
3 Take The Safest Pass Up
The issue with passing backward is that, while it is occasionally necessary, the movement is headed in a direction that favors the defense. The passes might be safer, sure, but they add up as the game goes on and will make the team sluggish.
Stamina is a finite resource. Without it, teams are slow. Even amateur gamers understand this. But what they might not understand is that dribbling and passing eat up trace amounts of stamina. At first, it's not a big deal, but these become a big deal when the team game is in its final minutes.
2 Check The Goals Before A Game
Sometimes that game provides goals to a player for the given game aside from just simply winning. It may sound absurd, but it's probably better to lose the match and accomplish these goals than it is to win by any means necessary.
The goals will provide important experience to players and teams that will help them more going forward. Of course, winning and knocking out the objectives are ideal, but if it means sacrificing a tie or a loss early on, this will add up to more victories later.
1 Play Aggressively With A Deficit
This might appear to counter an early point about playing conservatively with a lead, but there are a lot of avoidable one-nothing losses in FIFA 22. This happens because one team scores, holds onto the ball, and the defense waits for an opportunity that never happens.
Yes, playing with ferocity means giving up an occasional goal or committing an unnecessary turnover. Sometimes playing with ferocity means getting blown out; just remember that all losses are the same. But players who don't take risks when they are losing commit to the score on the board.
